I used to like these but I haven't kept up. Friday night, quite tempting. Are they meant to be good live?

Yeah, they're very good live. A big loud melting pot mix up of bhangra / d'n'b / dub / punk / grime (I imagine / angry shouting / k'waali.

Their manager is a mate of mine and he says there's a reasonable chance that Sherwood will be doing their sound, so that's doubly worth it.

I saw them live by accident once in Kent. Liked one of their songs which for me, to quote Bananarama, is really saying something

I saw Asian Dub Foundation at The Megadog Beach Festival in St Austell in 1998. They were superb. Among the other bands were Joe Strummer and The Mescaleros featuring Bez on maracas, which was quite an experience.

Can I just take this opportunity to say that about a quarter of a century ago, in a pub in Brighton, I got first prize in a Bez dancing competition and won the first Black Grape CD for my efforts.

Looking forward to this after the disappointment of the delays followed by cancellation of his previous tour.

Just went to see Micky Flanagan at the Soho Theatre. Work in progress. In the small room with 100 odd people. Seen him loads over the years, but he was so good - even for a work in progress. Glad to have him back 😁

Meant to be going to some Smiths tribute band in Southend tonight...

But, the Small Fakers are playing just up the road in Hockley which is significantly more appealing

Tomorrow, Lloyd Cole at the Palace, Westcliff
