Plane. Not much of a story but plenty of action. A film you don't have to think about.

Saw The Whale yesterday. They did a did great Job with making Brendan Fraser obese. He also gives a great performance. I enjoyed it.

Cocaine Bear.
The best “****” film you’ll see this year. It’s a stupid film but 95 minutes of throwaway entertainment.

Will probably see it when it rocks up on Amazon, but so far the true story brings me down. Poor ****er died of multiple organ failure which must have been agony. All cos of a trade for people who want to go to the magic Kingom.

Re: Return of The I've Been To The Cinema To See thread
Saw Cocaine Bear and it was alright. A fluffy bit of leave-your-brain-at-the-door nonsense. Up at the lightweight end of the "Nature Run Amok" subgenre, it's sillier than Snakes on a Plane (Ellis, 2006) but not quite as silly as Big Ass Spider! (Mendez, 2013). The jokes don't land nearly as often as they let fly, and there are too many scenes of people just sort-of standing around while the bear goes about the task of dismembering them, but it's an enjoyable enough romp anyway despite not quite delivering on its crackpot premise. I'd happily watch it again, possibly as part of a triple-bill alongside those aforementioned movies. Plus of course it was good to see Ray Liotta again, even if he was pretty much phoning this one in.

It does to be fair... I just feel like I should see it - in the same way I felt I had to watch the Banana Splits movie, which was also rubbish. This one looks worse though.

Winnie the Pooh - Blood and Honey
Looks awful, truly awful.
Has got cult classic written all over it
Same team behind this also have Bambi The Reckoning in the pipeline

The intellectual property rights for the 1926 book Winnie-The-Pooh expired in January 2022, leaving the characters in the public domain. This picture went into production almost immediately afterwards.

What I'm really waiting for is 'Evil Dead Rise'. Less than 2 months to go.

Re: Return of The I've Been To The Cinema To See thread
Went to Lea Valley Odeon with my daughter today to watch Puss in Boots
Decent film, very comfortable 'Recliner +' seats
But having not been to the cinema for about five years I was astonished at the price of food and drink. £4.95 for a small popcorn and £4.95 for the smallest beaker of Pic'n'Mix???
Outrageous

Re: Return of The I've Been To The Cinema To See thread
Saw a 70mm cut of 2001: A Space Odyssey at the IMAX yesterday.
Jupiter and Beyond the Infinite totally and utterly transcended both the heat of the auditorium, which was like a sauna, and the once ever 8 or so seconds rustling of the flaming popcorn bag of the ***** sitting behind us.
I genuinely consider it to be the finest scene of any film, ever made.
It was/is still beautiful.
