Garth Crooks’ team of the week

Post by claretnblueglasses »

Couldn’t find another thread on this (probably rightly so).

https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/58224395

Alisson; Tangana, Van Dijk, Chalobah; Son, Pogba, Fernandes, Alonso; Salah, Greenwood, Richarlison

No Hammers in the XI despite scoring four goals, with Antonio and Benrahma getting a goal and assist each!

Should be renamed ‘Big 6 plus one token player from another side team of the week’.

‘spose they didn’t go with that as it’s a bit too long.

You have to laugh really.Liverpool playing the favorites to get relegated(Norwich) and yet their keeper and defender get in Team of the Week. :crylol:

You couldn't make it up.

Mean while,2 of our players get a goal and a assist a piece, but still a United player gets in ahead of them with just the one goal.

Mentioned him enough on Sky Sports. Thought he was playing the amount of times they said his name.

I'd also think it's hard to argue that Richarlison playing at home against a poor Southampton side is as impressive a performance as Antonio and Benrahma away at a heaving and intimidating Newcastle.

Sorry, another 'who cares' from me...if we can keep playing the way we are then all good as far as I am concerned.

Again the more creaming over the 'top' clubs the better for us to keep the players heads in the game

In Garth Crook's defence, he's an idiot... It is well known that stupid people don't know they are stupid...
Carry on, but it's mean to mock the afflicted...

Exactly right, not worth looking at. No Brentford players sums it up.

Absolutely. Gillette Soccer Saturday has had a 'shake up' over the last couple of years. How is this guy still employed by anyone to give his opinion on football?

I am another who thinks Crooks is an imbecile, at least Cascarino has Benrahma in his team of the week in the Times, plus Pinnock (Brentford), Duffy (Brighton) and Dennis (Watford), then spoils it by picking Alisson as GK!

Because people still click on the links of his 'team of the week' run to football forums moaning that their players are not in it and also post the link so others can click on it and come back to the thread and start moaning about it, thus becoming stuck in some Garth Crooks Bermuda Triangle and giving his articles even more hits.

What with this, the moaning about MOTD, it becomes bloody boring to be honest. When we're a regular top six finisher, or one of the supposed 'big 6' then we'll get more coverage, but until then, f*ck 'em. I'm happy keeping under the radar, and worrying about consequential things in life, rather than this crap.
