Re: Garth Crooks’ team of the week
It’s not just a living he has been stealing. The guy got an OBE for “services to punditry and bringing passion to the game”.
Compare that with Lou Macari who provides free accommodation to those who live on the streets of Stoke and whose work hasn’t been recognised by any sort of award.

Which is said in the description under the Zouma one. Looks like two different interns wrote it this week!

I'll go out on a limb and say it now.....
Chelsea will have more players in his team of the week when it's released tomorrow

Re: Garth Crooks’ team of the week
Crooks normally picks people who score goals so he'll probably have Masuaku at LB.
He'll definitely have Mount in there.

Re: Garth Crooks’ team of the week
He's got Jarrod in and this is why:-
Jarrod Bowen: I've never been a great fan of Jarrod Bowen not because he can't play but because a kid with his talent should be scoring more goals.
He gets into great positions but often lacks the finishing touch.
However, against a desperately unlucky Chelsea, it was Bowen who seized onto Jorginho's poor back pass to Edouard Mendy, who has been in great form this season, that led to the penalty.
Unfortunately the Senegal international on this occasion was too proud to put his foot through the ball and into the crowd, where it should have gone and paid the price.
Bowen's performance galvanised the Hammers. Mendy's destroyed Chelsea's.
You'd think he'd read the game better with those bloody

Re: Garth Crooks’ team of the week
The issue is pretty obvious- he doesn't watch the full 90 minutes of every premier league game, I don't think anyone does. He obviously just watches the odd game, mainly the big ones, and the Match of the Day highlights, hence he usually just picks whoever has scored the goals. It's the same reason a lot of the MotD punditry is so ****, just "the goalscorer played well, look at that good goal he scored"- they've just seen the highlights like we have.
If you wanted to do this feature seriously, you'd get all the journos who've covered each game to confer. But this way gets loads of clicks by winding up fans all the time...

The pick your own XI feature is the best bit.
I note that this week you can actually pick Declan twice in the same team.

Re: Garth Crooks’ team of the week
I know he's a ****er but still.....
We beat the league leaders, who have let in 6 goals all season, & we get one player.
Citeh get 3 players for beating Watford, Liverpool get 2 players for scraping by Wolves & Newcastle get 2 players for....well just for winning at last. Against Burnley.
Still we got 1 player along with Man Utd, Spurs & Villa who all beat teams in the bottom half of the table.

Re: Garth Crooks’ team of the week
So we won because of Mendy, Chelsea were unfortunate, and Bowen earned a penalty nothing else to see there.
 did he even watch the highlights? We deserved to win that game, we created the better chances, Bowen should have had a hat trick, though the last one was offside I think, VAR wouldn't let us go 4-2 up.

No real idea why we have a thread for Garth Crooks - the bloke is an absolute helmet.
