They want to start concentrating on private jets and Superyachts, that's where the really needless waste takes place.

We do 1100 litres / hour at cruising speed on a 108 footer....

How much of overall emissions comes from private jets and super yachts? Probably not much, so whilst it maybe the most wasteful, it probably is a poor place to concentrate.

Etienne Stott didn't care too much about fossil fuels when his canoe was getting lugged around the world to world championships and Olympics...

A few years ago I was in a depature cafe at Gatwick waiting for our flight to the French Alps. A woman there picked up a sandwich and demanded of the staff whether the packaging was recyclable, the contents made from sustainable ingredients and son. The full works. I was sorely tempted to point out she was about to fly off on a skiing holiday but I got the laser death beam stare from Mrs. Boots.

It was meant tongue in cheek, but yes very little in reality. Plus they'd never be able to get near a PJ or superyacht without some bruiser dragging them away

I see the "just stop oil" imbeciles have been at it again at the national gallery in London. As protests go, this had me in stitches:

They threw tomato soup over a painting that is behind glass, before gluing themselves to the wall and shouting "What is worth more? Art or life? Is it worth more than food? Worth more than justice? Are you more concerned about the protection of a painting or the protection of our planet and people?"

They then went on with this belter: "millions of cold, hungry families" who "can't even afford to heat a tin of soup".

Millions can't afford to heat a tin of soup, yet those idiots can afford to waste two of them.

I mean, I'm all for well thought out and peaceful protest...in fact, I believe it is a fundamental human right...but I utterly fail to see what this has achieved.

Instead of ungluing and arresting them, leave them glued to the wall for a day or two.

Preferably with a can or two of soup just out of reach.
