Re: Xtinction Rebellion
It probably is, they're quite snug are those Toyotas. It's the horrendous fuel consumption on a massive 4.0l oil burner on unmade roads and the like she should be worried about. Be lucky if it did 12mpg...Denbighammer wrote: ↑Thu Oct 14, 2021 10:53 pm I hope the car she drove round the world was well insulated.

Re: Xtinction Rebellion
12mpg is probably closer to its urban rate, so well made roads, dropping Timmothy & Tarquine off to school.
Loaded down with all the required kit, mud tires, off-roading so >90% full-time 4X4 drive, etc. likely to be in negative numbers..

Disgraced former talksport presenter Mike Graham has a point there. It's perfectly easy to grow concrete. You just need millions of dead crustaceans, a seabed and hundreds (possibly thousands) of years to get the process started.

Re: Xtinction Rebellion
Well he is right, if sourced correctly timber is extremely sustainable and environmentally friendly with trees planted to replace whats cut down.
I assume Graham was trying to be clever because there's been a few experiments on using bacteria to grow "concrete" but it's completely unfeasible large scale.

Surely it's the obnoxious shock-jock who got taken to school heresussexhammer74 wrote: ↑Wed Oct 27, 2021 7:02 am Bless Cameron. Every day is a school day for Cameron.
Ploughed on with his pre-determined 'gotcha' tactic even when the guests answers totally derailed it.
Cameron's little smirk after the planks assertion that you can grow concrete is pure gold.

Unless he's one of those artisan types that hand craft a small piece of wood from a large piece of wood and then compost the shavings Cameron didn't strike me as a typical chippy, unless of course he panicked and picked the first manual laboury job that entered his head......

Re: Xtinction Rebellion
First time in a long time that I have found myself compelled to shill for the activist in these circumstances Leaving aside lab growth potentials, Graham makes an obviously stupid point, reducing the discussion to farce, and then hits the ejector seat himself. There have been plenty of humour in debate with XR and IB, but this isn’t one of them. It was low brow, and totally ridiculous.
The spokesperson didn’t help himself by opening the discussion in a hostile manner “glued to you, unfortunately”. But that doesn’t mean that he lost this debate.

If even Talksport won't employ you anymore then I assume there is some sort of story there.delbert wrote: ↑Wed Oct 27, 2021 10:10 am Disgraced?

If this has thrown off your spidey senses, you'll be baffled by the sparky I know who is also a massive hippy. Couple of straggly white man dreadlocks and everything.
