All still drinking in Monday night? Next match thread is usually up within hours of the last game...and here we are 50 odd hours from kick off dreaming about Europa League draws rather than clipping the Beagle's ears!

Guess our starting XI is pretty obvious so.....ermm...what do we talk about? Been some cracking goals and performances against these lot in recent years.

We're still West Ham. Never forget that.

Depressingly predictable underperformance and narrow loss incoming with a couple of niggly injuries to starters on the side.

For me, we always seem to play better against them on their own patch; not sure why.

They've played 3x Prem teams so far this season (one in LC) and failed to score a single goal.

Of benefit to us, surely, is that they are getting to grips with a new coach's style, after having to make a number of changes to their first team.
We on the other hand have a settled side, into which a handful of reserves must be straining at the leash to get and play.

Palace are however a stubborn bunch, who, when necessary go into a defensive formation. If we hadn't beaten Leicester, I would be more forthright in wanting a victory, here, but, given that we did and won that game well, it wouldn't be totally disastrous to only secure a point in this match.

Just thinking about Declanbauer, here, too...what do we as fans of his club side think about the coming internationals? Given that one is against Andorra, I wonder whether S-H's mate, Gareth, might rest him for that match and give old man Henderson a chance to win another cap?

Riding high, opposition struggling, expected to win. I've read this book before.

2-0 to Palace and one of 'those' days

To have any chance of improving on last season we need to win, and I think we will.

I have a (largely) irrational hatred of the Nigels.

Nah, just been a round a while and have learned never to expect a West Ham win because so often we fail to deliver when supposed to.

I expect us to score 4 again, and hopefully gain that elusive clean sheet.

Looking forward to Moyes tripping up Zaha as he runs past.

This will be a different game. Palace will sit back, frustrate us and try to counter. It will be up to us to patiently find an opening, which is probably not our greatest strength. Think we'll scrape through 1-0 which I'd be delighted with.

I think we'll win this. I also think Soucek or Dawson will score.

If rumours are to be believed then this is going to be WHU vs ExWHU.

Randolph, Diop, Fredericks, Johnston, etc al all playing for Palarse by the weekend.

We seem to either struggle to break them down and get a draw or smash the goals in.

Hopefully it'll be the latter.

Antonio, Benrahma and Fornals have been involved in all of our goals, if they're in the mood we'll win here.

An unchanged team please. And I'd stick Fornals on the left so Cresswell has enough protection from any of their wide players.

Hopefully we'll make it 3 wins from 3. :hamm: :fxd:

I think Palace are the only team in the league to not score a goal in any competition they've been involved with so far...

Hate Palace and we've struggled in recent times. They no longer have Hodgson in charge so that gives me a little more confidence. The man seemed to over achieve and get results by having good organisation in place.
