If his history with injuries is anything to go by, I reckon he'll be back closer to 2 weeks than 8 weeks. He's generally always come back ahead of schedule.

Even so... April is good timing. We have a bunch of winnable games in that month where we could realistically come out with 12 points.

Then gets injured again, rushed back too soon each time? Shame but the guy's proper injury prone.

you have to wonder whether he comes back too soon. we are always so desperate to get him back. ideally we need to CBs in this window to cover injuries and planning for when oggy leaves in the summer. surely we have one lined up to replace dawson at the very least.
sully obviously wants the drama next week !

next season we will have zouma and augerd as CBs both injury prone. only cover is from cresswell johnson and kehrer. none of them a CB.

I dont think that's the case.

Its probably more to do with the fact he's been out and other injuries tend to happen when players come back.

When he was sprinting back for the ball, I was thinking this is a good test for his hamstrings.

Ends up doing his quad muscle....

The issue with any kind of serious injury is that it starts to get like whack-a-mole. The physios teach him to run, jump etc differently to take the strain off his knees and it forces that pressure elsewhere. You see it all the time with players who have serious problems.

Antonio is “over” his injury problems and now he just doesn’t jump or full on sprint anymore!

It looks likely this was the injury the suffered in the first half then as that was his thigh.

He struggled for a while after carrying on but seemed to largely "run it off". Hard to tell with Zouma as he always moves like he's carrying a knock

Only just seen this reported prognosis of up to 8 weeks, which sounds about right when it comes to muscle tears. I thought he was supposed to be back soon?

Sorry but this guy is injury prone and on massive wages, it's not like it was unknown either.

Andy Carroll Mk2 in that respect.

Unreliable. We have a Rolls Royce next to a Land Rover, looks good but has a tendancy to break down

Or as little as two weeks, by the same report.

In which case would mean soon, as the injury occurred 21st of Jan.

Unfortunately for Zouma this is the Doctor advising him

Image

He would have been back in 2 weeks but when they sent him for a CAT scan he kicked the machine

Jokes aside, we knew what we were getting with Zouma and whilst he has a tendency to recover quickly he does pick up a lot of injuries. The only difference between him and Carroll is that he seems to settle back in a lot more quickly and I'd argue would strengthen our team even when half fit. Carroll was ineffective even at 80% and would regularly throw his arms up in a petulant manner when things didn't go his way and take more time to reintegrate himself
