Ah, we'll knock another few years out of him, 3 at least...
Very little difference between the knee's of an 80 year old & the knees of an 83 year old...
He'll be grand...

funky chicken wrote: Thu Oct 27, 2022 7:22 am What I find more baffling is we kind of heard of the knee problems around the time he just had his medical here, and yet we still decided to sign him.

Going forward it’s imperative we have fit, robust centre halves on our books. We had our warning signs last season with Oggy’s long term injury and Zouma’s on-off injury struggles, and still crazily went into this season with the pair of them.

We at least attempted to start this in the summer with Aguerd and Kehrer. But we will need 1-2 more in the next couple of windows when Dawson and Oggy inevitably leave.

If you sign a robust centre half and then he picks up an injury, as was the case with Aguerd, it’s just unlucky. Sadly these things can happen. But if you sign any player with previous injury problems, or shows issues in his medical and still go ahead with the signing, you can’t then complain when the player constantly picks up injuries after you’ve signed them. It was our choice to ignore the warning signs.
Agreed.

Exceptional yesterday, great to see his form coming back, although I thought he’d done his knee again at one point

Hopefully not related to the knee he once had surgery on before. Speedy recovery, Zouma, we're going to miss you..

Didn't realise it was that bad.
So he got injured in the warm up vs Leicester, played anyway, he had to come off and now has had to have surgery?

If Ballon is going then we need to bring in a couple don't we? Perhaps one of them on loan...

It's like Ashton and Bellamy all over again.

We will never see Zouma and Aguerd play together.

If the surgery was to correct an ongoing long term issue (which I’m assuming) why wasn’t it done immediately after our last game?
