I bought a dehumidifier about 5 or 6 years ago. It's mainly been sat in a cupboard but as they are all the rage right now I decided to have a look. The sticker on the back says power consumption - 332 Watts. Is that reasonable?

How are you receiving your energy bill Govt rebates (of £400) from your energy supplier?

Mine has given a seemingly random reduction of £66 from my latest monthly bill...

£66 goes onto my account at Octopus, and I pay £66 less a month.

I've had two £66 payments into my energy account. One on 1st Oct and one on 1st November.

I have no clue how much money the Government is giving us?

I’ve had 2 x £66 payments into my electricity supplier account (£66 is one-sixth of £400).

When are the gov going to sort out the outdated linking of electric rates to gas.

Renewables provide a fair bit of the countries electric and they have not gone up

https://www.energylivenews.com/2022/06/ ... ty-prices/

They have been looking into it for months

Perhaps it's not in their interests ....

If solid wall insulation is on this I will be seriously considering it

Can cut the gas even further and make the HVAc even more efficient

70,000 homes doesn't sound like very many. End of 2020 there were 14.3m houses with cavity insulation, which was 70% of houses with cavity walls. That leaves about 6.1m houses without.

I'm sure those figures have changed since with house building and so on.

A 9 year Government failure on policies to promote this and now a sticking plaster over a gaping wound.

Not every house with a cavity wall is suitable for cavity wall insulation.
Anything below 50mm , for example, can cause more issues than it solves. Also houses in coastal areas where damp penetration can be an issue.

Don't I know it. 1930's house with 25mm cavity so can't be done. Back of the house is extension so ok, just the front. Am looking at insulating from the inside.

Wasn't it suggested - possibly even in this thread, actually - that supermarkets were keeping their fuel prices a little higher to continue to offer lower food prices in store?
