Yep, that should give you a code that you then just redeem on the xbox store.

Either way, make sure you do the “convert Xbox live gold to game pass thing” and save a packet 👍

Yeah, I got a new set with HDMI 2.1 features in November - definitely worth the upgrade to make use of all the latest stuff.

Ive got a Philips 65" 4K but thats about it on the latest features although it does have ambilight which is something I love and dont understand why other manufacturers havent followed suit :?

Anyway, still looks good and cant be that much better with a more expensive telly, can it?

I got a Philips OLED 806 last year for £1300 due to a pricing error on Curry's website (RRP £2300, meant to be on sale at £1800), and I love the Ambilight feature, too. Make no mistake, games played at 120fps/4k/Dolby Vision/VRR look and feel absolutely incredible. Rock solid 60hz is the minimum frame rate I'm prepared to tolerate any more, but when you try them with the current HDMI 2.1 features, you'll never want to go back. Your Series X was designed specifically to support them, and you'll want to get the best out of it if you can.

Should add that it was to replace an ageing 55" 1080p set with no HDR and a very sluggish android UI. If you've bought a decent 4k set in the last couple years, it might not be worth upgrading just to get those features enabled.

I have that exact TV and got an Xbox X a couple of months ago (with help from RARS).

Bloody marvelous it is. Will be even better when they drop the VRR at 4k update soon.

Yes! Was a bit miffed it wasn’t included in the firmware installed when I picked it up, but am willing to wait. Otherwise, the TV is marvellous - it’s in a fairly dark room, so I can get away with the lowest brightness settings without compromising dynamic range. Load it up with some Dolby vision content and it’s truly incredible where the state of the art is nowadays.

Series S now £224 on Amazon

edit - back up to £238, for some reason. Still a decent price.

£899 for the 55” LG C1 OLED, if you sign up for the RS “VIP” thing, for free. Doubt you’ll ever see them cheaper than that - HDMI 2.1/120Hz/VRR/Dolby Vision etc.
