Missed the game, but when I saw the result I couldn't bloody belive it, what has the manager done to West Ham? Bloody fearlessness going through and through. Long may it continue.. :hammc: :scarfer:

What a week. Sitting here holding my one day old son, listening to him baby squeak bubbles and wondering if this might be the peak of my life.
Congrats mate. My little one is just coming up 19 months and I don’t know how I’m going to explain that West Ham used to be pony :crylol: all he’s had is joy so far.

My favourite moment of many:
Pep sends on Grealish...... The Moyesiah sends on Vlad.. :D :D
did make me smile. Grealish had a face like a chicken being stared at by Colonel Sanders

Walker - :newthumb:
I always had him down as a bit of a twat, good player, but that is very gracious from him.

Congrats FJ.

Literally said aloud 'what the f***?'' when Dawson was ambling over for the third pen. Assumed the cameraman was recording him walking over to the touchline to get a water bottle while the actual penalty taker stepped up. He nailed it of course, but would love to know the rationale that led to it given Soucek and Fornals were in reserve. Is he secretly known for his deadly finishing in training or something?

Anyone still knocking Diop?? He was incredible ast night, absolutely dominated them. Great games from Vlasic and Aereola as well.

Had to laugh at the BBC report talking about how they "Peppered" our goal...aside from Ake I don't recall a really serious attempt...very even game I thought.

Well done moyes and team.

I thought we had as many decent chances as they did, although Stones should have done better with his header

You wouldn't guess it from the Sky highlights - 3 Man City shots from the game that Areola saved and then the penalties is all they put out!

Because in the big scheme of it we pissed on their chips. Think the media may be more upset than City to be honest

We were excellent against a ****ing strong Man City team

It really was an outstanding win.

We're so much more professional in literally ever aspect of the game these days... even penalties. f*** me... we're unrecognizable.

Our fringe players were vital last night... Johnson, Areola, Diop, Dawson, Noble, Valsic, Lanzini, Yarmo... all had good moments.

There's an interesting dynamic going on at the moment where the first choice team hasn't really been performing particularly well but has enough quality to get results most of the time anyway, and the second choice/rotated team *does* actually perform well and gets the results that way. It means the gap between the strongest team and the compromised one is compressed into one that's quite small for the time being.

But someone is going to take a beating once the first choice team finally gets itself firing on all cylinders for the majority of a game. I'd argue it's only really been seen against Leicester this season, and even that had an asterisk against it with the red card.

Only seven fouls combined and no cards across the entire 90 last night. Either a game played in great spirit by both teams, or everyone is a bit half-arsed because it's 'just' the League Cup. Or bit of both?

I agree about the "Professional " comment.

The pens last night were a prime example

Wonder if Sterlings found his way out of Johnson’s sky rocket yet? :)

Still buzzing

Being rational, my head tells me that we’re only into the quarters and there are a load of good teams still in it….but the culture, determination, consistency, passion around this club just makes me so proud of them at the moment, and last night in a ‘Mickey mouse’ cup with all odds against just epitomised how special this group are imo.

It’ll be one to live long in the memories for sure.
