I just dont want to say it in case I jinx it. But top 4 is beginning to look 'doable' to me. Man City, Chelsea, Liverpool, us. I can definitely see it. :scarfer:

I actually think Chelsea may struggle to get top four - controversial I know! Their first choice XI is good enough, for sure, but Tuchel keeps chopping and changing the XI (for no real reason IMO) as well as sticking to a pretty defensive formation (even against the lesser teams).

They’ve got an absolute crud load of players to choose from but I don’t think their quality in depth is as good as it’s made out to be.

Need to add a quality forward/striker(s) in Jan, then it's on

Otherwise worried lack of strength in depth will cost us as fatigue and injury creep in. Don't blow this West Ham! We are ****ing massive.

Eight opponents until halfway:

Chelsea, Man City, Arsenal, Wolves, Brighton, Burnley, Watford, Norwich.

I think Liverpool are better than any of them.

After today's magnificent result I've now revised my end of season position to 8-10. 7th at a push.

This - I'm full of hope. But not of expectation and I think thats an important distinction. Another season in Europa and I'm happy, think its good for our overall attractiveness to be the next Villareal, before we become the next Barcelona.

The wheels must fall off eventually... and I'd love to think for us to get right behind the team when/if they do.

I agree. Still very early days, only 30% through the season with a small squad. Lets just enjoy the ride and not put much pressure on the team or ourselves.

I really hope we can add 2 or 3 quality players in Jan with PL experience that can hit the ground running. - Do that and we're in with a chance of top 4.

Eleven games in and the 'Big Six' already occupy the top six positions in the league.
It's just that we've replaced Spurs in the 'elite club'.

Where’s our invite to the super league then?

But on a serious note, I’d be happy with just the Premier League, Carabao and Europa this year. We can tackle the FA and Super Cup next year.

The bookies now have us finishing 6th (behind Man City, Chelsea, Liverpool, Man United and Arsenal) although they have us and arsenal very close.

Can't help but think that our squad depth will hurt us, but its really fun while it lasts!

Remember, we missed out on a Champions League place by only 2-3 points last season. So to try and go that one step further this season we need to try and mirror the same results we picked up against the same opposition. But to try and better 2-3 of the results.

The great thing is we have already bettered 2 of our results in the same game last season.

Last season we lost 3-2 away to Newcastle. This year we won 4-2. 3 more points than last season.

Last season we lost 3-1 at home to Liverpool. This year we won 3-2. Again, 3 more points.

In the other games we have picked up the exact same points. Brentford being the only game we’ve slipped up in really.

If, IF we go on to get the exact same results against the same opponents last season - for the rest of the season - there’s a very strong chance we’ll be playing Champions League football next season. Even if Moyes still struggles to pick up an elusive win against the so-called big clubs.

AFCON strips Liverpool of Salah, Keita and Mane, while Arsenal lose Partey, Aubameyang and Pepe.

In simple terms for us, Vlasic and/or Lanzini need to be able to fill Benrahma's boots for a small number of games.

Winning the Vienna game is really important in the sense that it makes the Zagreb game in December a dead rubber and removes all possibility of needing to play two knockout games in February. It lightens the load.
