Not as good a goalscorer or creator though.

Lovejoy. You seem to have forgotten how hugely negative Arno was on team. morale. He, and his brother, were hugely negative. The current togetherness within the squad is one of the major reasons, if not the most, why we have improved. Michail is hugely popular within the squad, For that reason there is no question, Michail is the better influence overall.

Re: January 2022 Transfer Window
For all of those saying “just pay the money” for these players, I felt the same way a few years ago, saying “their club doesn’t want a loan, just pay the money for their best player Gokhan Tore!”
It’s a frustrating way of doing business, but it clearly works. Tore, Soucek, Benrahma and countless others have come to us on loan when their club was reluctant to do anything but an outright sale. Benrahma deal fell through 10 times before signing!
I think Caleta-Car will be the same outcome nearer to deadline day.

On Sky they are saying £3 mill. Wide range of figures being quoted here.HammerMan2004 wrote: ↑Tue Jan 25, 2022 12:12 pm The news yesterday was of a £10m loan fee for the six months.

Re: January 2022 Transfer Window
Nah, Hire Purchase means that we'd pay installments during the loan and at the end the car is fully paid up.
This is a PCP one, pay installments now then a lump sum at the end of we want to keep the car.

How do their records compare as centre forwards? Seeing as both spent most of their careers wide

If we were after creative talent from the french league, I quite like Romain Faivre. Very talented and creative, and a set piece specialist. Still only 23.

28 goals and 14 assists in 72 games for Antonio.
Works out better in Antonio's favour.

From what I saw at the Euros which admittedly isn't much, nor do I.Chadwell Chief wrote: ↑Tue Jan 25, 2022 6:28 pm Yeah I just don’t rate Hlozek, don’t think he’d be a success for us despite his age.

I absolutely love this thread where it says so, so much more about us posters than about the market, GSB, players etc. From the perpetually deluded to the more reasonable, from the unknowledgeable to the the realists, from the sensible to the lunatic fringes. I mean this sincerely, its what football is all about. Great stuff

Re: January 2022 Transfer Window
Yeah but look at the quality of team they were playing in and the chances that team would provide that striker. Arnie would have had a laugh in this side… but the biggest point is Arnie AND Antonio would have been perfect.Bubbles Fortuna wrote: ↑Tue Jan 25, 2022 9:13 pm 21 goals and 10 assists in 60 games for Arnautovic

It's the lack of ambition shown by the board and Moyes too come to that, which sticks in my craw

Re: January 2022 Transfer Window
I have seen both play.
Antonio would run through a wall for his team and teammates, there is no such thing as a lost cause, he just keeps battling until he cannot. Arnie not so much. How do you assess that in “better player”.
Do not get me wrong I loved Arnie when he moved central for us and would have had him back in the summer as cover but for who we are and what we are Antonio is better.
