Re: January 2022 Transfer Window
Being reported the Geordies are not pursuing Lingard now. I think he will run his contract down and come to us in the summer........in respect of signings in this window.... Don't blink first and hold your nerve boys and girls let's see what happens, I trust Moyes

Re: January 2022 Transfer Window
At his current rate he'll have more goal involvements this season than Rooney did in his best season before leaving Everton........what's not to like.
Re: January 2022 Transfer Window
So Kral was a waste of time then, I mean he cant even get a game in front of a way over the hill Mark Noble. As it stands right now Vlasic is a waste of money, I think he looks an ok player, not exactly a game changer though to me. And this notion about him taking time and maybe being a bit of a project for Moyes to work on. If he can spend 25m on a project midfielder this notion he needs a CF who can come straight in is rubbish. Why couldn’t he spend 25m on forward who he could work on, I mean he seems absolute certain we can’t better Antonio so sign a decent youngster, someone he can nurture into a player.Sloop John B wrote: ↑Wed Jan 26, 2022 3:05 pm Kral clearly there to make up the numbers but again let's not pretend finances aren't impacting on his amount of game time.
Vlasic a waste of time... interesting angle and one I really don't follow, think he'll become a key player in the future.
Let's remember it's taken Bowen, a player who's played in England all his life nearly 18months to start showing what he can do on a regular basis.
When Moyes does finally sign the striker and it turns out he's been signed for the next 4-5 years and not the next 4 months some people on here are gonna need some heavy emotional support to get through that.
Bowen was decent enough from the off, he is in great form now but not having it he took time. Scored on his full debut & was crucial to us staying up after the restart as well.

Hopefully by the time Rice is on the market for real, Sullivan & co. will just be a bad memory.Julien Snow Bear wrote: ↑Wed Jan 26, 2022 3:16 pm You think Sully would give a **** they didn't sell us Lingard if Man U offer anything above £80M for Rice?

After looking at more than just goals scored and instead focusing on style of play, experience of English football, and how well they'd fit into our team and tactics, I've settled on Brereton Diaz and Origi as being the best options. Origi would probably be my preference out of the two.

On the other hand, at the same age Rooney was Man of the Match in the League Cup final and ended the season with 16 goals in 26 Premier League games.

Think we'd be foolish to wait. We need his short-term impact more than any savings if we're gonna go for him anyway. Suspect when he's free, there will be competition too.chappo59 wrote: ↑Wed Jan 26, 2022 4:38 pm Being reported the Geordies are not pursuing Lingard now. Re: January 2022 Transfer Window
Pros for Origi are that he’ll be a free agent and can play RW as well as CF so would replace Yarmolenko’s role completely. The cons are his injury record, probable wage demands and pretty poor goalscoring record.Burnley Hammer wrote: ↑Wed Jan 26, 2022 4:50 pm After looking at more than just goals scored and instead focusing on style of play, experience of English football, and how well they'd fit into our team and tactics, I've settled on Brereton Diaz and Origi as being the best options. We should be aiming way higher than Brereton, I don’t remember the last Championship striker to properly step up. Ings?

Wayne's in the lead, but Broja could come from behind any minute now!

Yeah I can imagine Spurs, Newcastle if they stay up and maybe someone like Roma being interested if he’s free in the summer.

Re: January 2022 Transfer Window
If Man U are genuinely worried about loaning Lingard to a top 4 rival then why not offer the same terms to all:
To Newcastle £12m survival bonus (should they stay up)
To Spurs and West Ham £12m Champions league bonus (should they qualify for the CL)
To Newcastle £12m survival bonus (should they stay up)
To Spurs and West Ham £12m Champions league bonus (should they qualify for the CL)

How much would Champion's League make for Man Utd? Guarantee its more than £12 million.
That's why.

Plus he will have spent an entire season of NOT playing football. (Except for scoring against us obviously)

Are you suggesting that Man U ask more than £12m?Bubbles Fortuna wrote: ↑Wed Jan 26, 2022 5:04 pm How much would Champion's League make for Man Utd? Guarantee its more than £12 million.
