Sinfield

Post by Up the Junction »

An amazing achievement and an incredibly moving story.

Kevin Sinfield ran 101 MILES in just 24 HOURS to raise £500,000 for the MND (Motor Neurone Disease) Association, after his former Leeds team mate and friend Rob Burrow was diagnosed with the debilitating condition two years ago.

See video of Sinfield completing the challenge in the tweet below. #RealHero

Rob Burrow's story is an incredible one. As is Kevin Sinfield's achievement on his behalf. I defy anyone not to well up at the Leeds Rhinos Fundraiser for MND.

What's particularly nice is that whilst I'm a West Ham fan, my loyalties lie up north when it comes to Cricket and Rugby. As a Rhinos and a YCCC fan, it's nice to see that at least one side of Headingly is getting it right at the moment.

He is the epitomy of the 'The get of your arse and do something guy. A terrific achievement. Sometimes, I feel driving 100 miles is shattering enough, let alone running it. Well done that man and the money he has raised will make a huge difference into the research of MND. Give this man a knighthood

Incredible achievement! Leeds Rhino's in raising the profile of MND along with Doddie Weir should be hugely congratulated and be very very proud of what they have done/doing, nothing but huge respect for all involved. :newthumb: :newthumb:

I had only heard of MND through the above until one of my mates was diagnosed 19 months ago, he lost his life to it a couple of months back, it is a horrible debilitating condition, so any money to help finding a cure/stop it spreading can only be a good thing.

Now past £2m - the word is overly used but Sir Kev is a legend.
Makes you proud to be a rugby league fan ( as well as a Hammers fan obvs....)

Good point, I'm not bonkers about titles and such like but if anybody deserves to be knighted it's Kevin Sinfield. Absolute hero.
