Anything goes in The Snug, General Discussion's rebellious little brother. An off-topic den of iniquity where any subject not covered elsewhere may be discussed. Well, anything except golf, Star Wars and Arsenal.

The glove told me I didn’t have it!
As previously mentioned, that's not what the glove is for. The glove just tests for enlargement, which could be caused by any number of things.
What made you think you might have it in the first place?

Googling my symptoms! I’m through the MRI scanner again early next week.
I had my blood test and MRI last month, Hopefully I'll get my results soon. I'm having an Urodynamics Test next week. I'm a little worried I get this woman doing the test. Oh I see your happy to see me! I had my biopsys before lockdown. Interesting article on the BBC News about new ways of early stage treatment. BBC News article.High Intensity Focused Ultrasound (HIFU) is a new techneque for killing cancer cells in prostate cancer Prostate Cancer UK although it is not available on the NHS yet.
Guys it's important you know what to look for and also keep on top of those PSA levels especially as you get older.
I can’t pass solids again and have been suffering with horrendous stomach cramps. I’m due back in hospital tomorrow afternoon for a CT scan and will speak to the pros to advise what’s been happening.
I’m sleeping through it and using painkillers. I’d give anything to be well again.
The painkillers could actually be making your constipation worse. I'd be careful.
What happened with all those previous scans?
Did they identify what was causing the blockage?
Is that a fact? I’ve been taking as many as allowed to try and rid the crippling cramps but, if I think about it, I’ve been constipated since taking them… Oh dear.
All I know is I had a large abscess on my pelvis and powerful antibiotics largely cleared it without the need for surgery. I’ve had them in my mouth and back before but this was the first internal.
The pain has been so bad today that I’ve taken PM leave from work. I’m horizontal at present.

There's a difference between old fashioned constipation and some sort of bowel blockage.
Hence my question about your scans.
If I were you I would take myself off to A and E. Just to be on the safe side .
That thing is unlikely to clear itself (and I talk from very painful experience).
Had my urodynamics test yesterday. Not the most pleasant of tests. It turns out that the prostate not only grows bigger on the outside as you get older but also can on the inside. What this does is it can restrict the flow and you may not fully empty your bladder. I suspect that is why we older gentlemen have to keep getting up in the night. On the graph it showed I use more than usual amount of pressure when voiding. There is a fairly new procedure (Rezum) that is fairly simple in reducing the obstruction. I have a follow up phone appointment next week.
I don't like this idea of phone appointments, I don't think they advantageous as a face to face meeting.
Wasn't sure where to post this. No "weird supplement"" thread. Has anyone ever used this stuff? Shilajit...
I'm f*cking bouncing off the walls. It's a weird, expensive, tar like substance that tastes like diesel. But my word, the energy I'm getting from it. I supplement to maintain a decent immune system (D3, zinc, multvit), but this stuff is intense for me. Feel really wired.
Had a hospital appointment and got my results back. My cancer is spreading but still within the prostate, they did 36 biopsies and found cancer in 8. My Gleason score is now 7. On hormone tablets and injections to follow. I'm having external beam radiotherapy around March.

Yeah I've taken it - hope you got some that's had a full anaysis done! The key components are supposed to be fulvic and humic acids and apparently can help with mitochondrial biogenesis. Very little actual research been done though. I used it earlier in the COVID pandemic when I became convinced that protecting the mitochondria was vitally important.

All the best mate
Thanks very much. I'm taking it in my stride to be honest. They say I could live for 10 years without treatment. At my age 65 it's a bit of a lottery. I actually retired and moved out of the city and living in the countryside and enjoying life.

Best of luck mate. My dad went through it during lockdown and is thankfully out the other side and no relapse.
