The Physical Health Thread

Anything goes in The Snug, General Discussion's rebellious little brother. An off-topic den of iniquity where any subject not covered elsewhere may be discussed. Well, anything except golf, Star Wars and Arsenal.

Anyone notice that the Snug is becoming an 'old boys aches and pains' forum? (Mental health apart). UTJ had better do a demographic survey of average ages and see if this is sustainable. Have honestly thought about what this site will look like in 2030.

My yearly propaganda plea to get Vit D3 levels up. Current RDI's are about 100 years out of date. Watch this if you have the time chaps...

I personally recommend a daily intake of 1000mg of cod liver oil

Hope all is well, snuggers.

Nice one Doc, really good advice.

At the start of Covid I started to take 1,460mg per day, & as well as boosting the immune system I have noticed a big difference in my moods & mental stability. The missus reckons I’m nowhere near as premenstrual as I used to be.

I think a point that’s worth noting is that not all fish oil supplements are the same quality. It’s actually the levels of EPA & DHA which are the most important factor. The higher the better. 👍

My dog has 2.5ml

What's people's full cocktail of vitamins and supplements on a normal day?

1 gram Acetyl L-Carnitine, 300mg Alpha Lipoic Acid, 500mg Shilajit Extract, 20mg PQQ in the morning on an empty stomach

A smoothie later in the morning with as much good stuff crammed in as I can manage (it's an unusual concoction to say the least). There's 2g of magnesium citrate powder in there and 1g of MSM powder which probably count as supplements

5,000iu vitamin D, 100mcg vitamin K2 MK7, High strength B complex (with folate rather than folic acid), 1 gram vitamin C, and 300mg CoQ10 with my breakfast.

I was taking Turmeric earlier this year for a few weeks then I kinda forgot to include it -

I try to take a daily Multivitamin along with Vitamin D3 [ 10 micrograms ]

Ordered Vitamin D3 [ 4000 iu strength ] + Vitamin K2 today so will be increasing the dose .

Not heard of cinnamon benefits until now . :newthumb:

Mind you, she used to call mindfulness, 'mindlessness'..

If only there was a way to get regular profiles of our levels, on all sorts of things.
We either don't know that we should be taking something(s) extra of or by taking all sorts of stuff, are just producing very expensive urine.
Totally great about your yearly propaganda plea. You more than anyone would know that the NHS are piss poor at that sort of stuff, preferring instead to tell us all that, 'with a normal diet we should be needing to take any supplements'. And that 'supplements are a lifestyle choice'.
Well, it might cost them money, if they didn't..
