Time to bring back Coufal to give us attacking options on right again plus makes Soucek play better.

I would think Lanzini replaces Benny who has been poor for a while now.

----------------------Fab

Coufal------Dawson----Zouma-------Cresswell

------------------Soucek-----Rice

Bowen---------------Lanzini--------------Fornals

--------------------Antonio

Ah, It’s time for the annual fail to beat Brighton. The side team's a lot worse than us can beat on a more regular basis with ease. Can’t wait! :|

I’ll be optimistic. I’ll go for a score draw.

Bowen is key to our style, harrying, chasing and his speed on the break. Also delivers a cracking ball in. I hope he gets a start. Understand he was probably rested today so no complaints, hindsight is easy, I didn't complain prior to today's game. We missed him vs Man City today though.

Lamptey is grease lightning so we’ll need cover on the left. Not sure if Cresswell will be fit, Fornals in front of Masuaku. We need to play a high line and get runners in behind. They are a possession-based team and Potter is good at changing it up during the game; their players are flexible and can adapt to his system. Trossard is dangerous but what they struggled with last season is rearing it’s ugly head again and that is a failure to break teams down and take their chances.

I’d go:

————————Fab
Coufal—-Dawson—-Zouma—-Arthur (Cres injured)
—————-Soucek—-Rice
Bowen——-Lanzini——Fornals
——————-Antonio

I do wonder if Antonio will be rested though, which might be partly behind Bowen being rested today. Although it was seem a strange decision to rest Antonio in our most winnable game.

I think Antonio will play and Rice may be given a breather particularly as he’s one yellow away from a ban and if he gets it v Brighton, he’ll miss Chelsea.

The first time for a long while that Moyes really has some decisions to make.

4 of the front 6 are a bit out of form, Rice and Bowen are the exceptions. Lanzini is consistently playing well. RB is also a question, albeit an attacking one, not a defensive one.

Lanzini is our best link up player and a lovely player to watch. Always looks to get the ball forward.

I’d make a few changes. Assuming Cresswell is okay…..

———————————Fabianski———————————

-Coufal————Dawson—-Zouma————Cresswell-

————————-Rice———-Soucek——————————

———————————Lanzini——————————————

-Fredericks————-Bowen————————Fornals-

Subs: Areola, Johnson, Diop, Masuaku, Kral, Vlasic, Benrhama, Yarmolenko, Antonio.

Antonio has been ***** for a while. So I’d drop him to the bench as a polite wake up call for him. Johnson has been superb. But the time is right now to give Coufal a go again. I’d play Dawson for this one as Brighton can be dangerous in the air with their centre halves. But I’d be tempted to bring Diop in for the Chelsea game, unless we somehow keep a clean sheet in this game. I was tempted to keep Benrhama in the team for at least 1 more game, or even give Vlasic a chance to see if he can continue where he left off from the Rapid Wien game. However, with pace of Lamperty on our left hand side I felt we may need Fornals to help Cresswell out. Fredericks on the right as no one else can play there in Bowen’s absence from that side, other than Yarmolenko.

No too bothered about resting Rice so he doesn’t get a ban. We’d probably lose to Chelsea even with him in the team. May as well use him in a game we at least stand a chance.

All I can safely say at this time is that there is no way on earth that our lot will allow a third straight league defeat.

I think a few of the usual Thursday team might see some action here.

Doubt that anyone would be surprised if Coufal and Lanzini started at the expense of Johnson and Benrahma.

I've got a feeling that a couple of always-plays might be getting to watch this one from the bench as their individual form doesn't merit protected species status at the moment.
