Re: Ray Kennedy
RIP Ray, legend out here , as played for two of the favourite teams, from that era.
I thought he was a terrific keeper.

Re: Ray Kennedy
When I was first going to games in the early 70’s Ray was still a young man and that makes this hit home all the more. A great midfielder with a good scoring record and in hindsight, was very underrated.
Sad news, RIP

Re: Ray Kennedy
A true and very sad story:
In about 1984, my brother and I went on one of those Soccer Skills courses that they used to do, and the celebrity coach was Ray Kennedy. He came across as very polite and a bit shy.
At the end of the training, all the kids got an autograph, and there was a fair amount of flat out moaning at how he’d signed these photos. I still remember it as clear as day as he looked visibly embarrassed at the signing.
It came out he had Parkinson’s a few years later, poor fella.

He was in fact a very cultured attacking midfield player with a great left peg.Chicken Run Supreme wrote: ↑Tue Nov 30, 2021 6:48 pmTry again, but that’s defence and goalkeeper eliminated now

Very much in the mould of our Trev, started as a striker ended as an elegant midfielder

Re: Ray Kennedy
He was harder than Sir Trev - less cultured, but a truly great player nonetheless. RIP Ray.

Re: Ray Kennedy
I had the BBC video ‘ 101 Great Goals ‘ and Ray Kennedy featured. The commentator said “ …and put into the net by Ray Kennedy with total authority.”
RIP Ray.
RIP Ray.

You know when you're at a funeral and you're dying to laugh......this is one of those moments .
I'll keep it in though out of respect .....

Ray Kennedy was a great player , consistent throughout his career and could always be relied on to come up with a goal .
