What a coincidence that one of Southampton's rearranged games is vs Newcastle.
Seems fair enough. He didn't want it called off at the time, and now – especially given Wilson and ASM are out – their best player available on the rearranged date will be someone who wasn't eligible for the original date.

I'd be amazed if he's the only addition before then as well.

Moyes has agreed with this in an interview.

For what it's worth I agree too, though saying that on twitter has resulted in literally hundreds of very angry and paranoid Geordies tweeting me.
It is always good to get your face known.

So Everton v Leicester, which has been postponed once, has been postponed again at the request of Leicester. Vardy out, others at the AFCON and some injuries in other places. Surely teams can’t keep kicking the can down the road? I mean, having the same injuries and then a couple of new cases can’t be a reason to keep having games postponed?

Can’t imagine Everton will be too disappointed. Rafa can’t lose if not playing and it will likely be played after the window with possible transfers available.

The whole is this right ship has long sailed. No it isn’t.

Klopp claiming that the problem Liverpool had this week were actually a load of false positive tests. Glad that was all cleared up for them to play Shrewsbury today.

Completely unrelated but NHS Test & Trace reckon their data shows you get around 1 false positive in every 1000 tests completed.

Leicester's real problem is injuries not covid. Very useful time for them not to play

How can they use players at the ACON as an excuse to postpone the game!? :D They chose to sign players from Africa. They should’ve thought about it at the time they signed them.

Agreed but Everton are a complete mess right now, anything to kick the can down the road for Rafa is a good thing right now.

Isn't that Burnley's 4th now, none of them have been their 'fault'

So Burnley sell their main striker, have their best player at AFCON and still manage to get a game postponed for injuries and COVID. Hmmm...

Strange that..... I hope it clears up once they've signed a replacement

I'll laugh my arse off if all these team playing the system due to Transfer window and ACON actually get a massive out break (for real) in late Feb once their players are back. The teams that cried Wolf.

As everyone's in such difficulty, why not just stop the season now?

Tuchel calling it out and says he'll be pissed if people are using it (covid) as an excuse

And he is quite right, Liverpool will be at it as well especially after the inert performance in the EFL cup. They'll want to play as few games as possible until after the ACON.
