Will the game go ahead?
Have Spurs had too long a break? Is there such a thing?
Certainly feel that there will be more of a level playing field now that we can get a good week of rest into our squad. Got to be a full strength side for this, maybe Areola in sticks, but other than that, has to be our best XI.
Unfortunately the only way I see us winning this game is if Tottenham don't turn up, which admittedly isn't out of the question but they will be fresh as a daisy for this game.
Sadly i can't see this going ahead but i suppose on a positive note, added to the norwich match, it's two less games to play before getting some players in january and also getting players back from injury. Which would just leave saints, watford and palace before the leeds fa cup match on 9th Jan. And you'd hope we have cover and players returning by then. Cresswell, Johnson and Fredericks maybe. Then coufals one suspension. So in a way i suppose the break helps us.
A week's rest unfortunately won't resolve all of our injury problems, but hopefully Cress will be back in contention.
I have a nagging feeling that Kane scoring is an inevitability in this match; his league scoring stats are poor, but he has had a rest recently and he and Son will have a game against our reserve defenders.
Can't say I am at all confident about this, but we've beaten these lot in this competition with weaker squads in the past, so hopefully we can rouse ourselves for another determined defensive performance. Perhaps give Vlasic a game in the #10 slot?
I think we will be well up for this.
A weeks break will do us good.
Losing Coufal is bad but if we get Cresswell back it will add composure to out defence.
Ashby at RB to give some energy but will be a tough game for him vs Son.
Really hope this game goes ahead but not too fussed if PL has a break now(presume it's an FA decision not premier league and Villa had to play a youth team last season).

No indication as of yet that this will be called off, Spurs seem to be over their issues and we haven’t got them.
The Premier League and FA haven’t had the brains to float a break yet, though I believe they should
Premier League / FA meeting on Monday to discuss "circuit breaker" apparently

Personally I am hoping this is postponed due to Spurs being far more refreshed than us and with our defensive injuries.
I wonder if they might be a little too well rested now though. Seems crazy saying it, but three weeks off for these elite athletes is far from ideal mid season. They had just hit a bit of form too so this may take the wind of of their sails and it might take them a while to get their sharpness back. Start strong and we could blow them away.
