brentford stepped up because it was man u but were so toothless and tired by the second half they lost 3-0. Man u looked much better than they have been. Even with zouma and soucek back, this isn't going to be easy but we do really need a win.

They are in turmoil, the 11 they put out this weekend, bar the usual suspects have not had a kick all year and looked so.

If we really believe we can't beat these arseholes this weekend then we may as well pack up and expect relegation this year.

I tell you this, Man U now are 20pct of what they once were, Moyes should set us up to go for the jugular, aside from Greenwood they have no pace in the side to counter attack and even if you include Rashford in there his head has gone sideways.

I think if we are positive we cam win this 2 - 0 - Chelsea, Liverpool, City and Arsenal are streets ahead of the Mancs and Arsenal are the only side to have beaten us comprehensively of those 4.

We will have had a week's rest, good time to prepare and there can be no excuses for a lame rearguard action against these fellas, there is nothin g to fear. they are bog standard ordinary.

Let's be Avin ya.
Love it Pezza. Charge!

Two years ago we were fighting relegation.

Games in hand aren't guaranteed wins, we still have to play Tottenham and Arsenal again too. There's a long way to go regardless of the result in this game.
Some have taken "we are massive" literally.

Weirdly I'd consider Diop for Dawson (if carrying a knock) and put Zouma in his better position on the right, might also go Johnson but that is a close call as I think Soucek is better with Coufal to his right.

Not a bad shout, forgot Dawson was carrying a knock.

I would go to a 5 at the back for this, on the basis that they do have an abundance of pace going forward and we just cannot defend. Cresswell in at LCB and Masuaku (yeah I know), in at LWB.

Rice/Soucek and Lanzini in the middle with Bowen/Antonio up top.

Surely we can't leave Lanzini out? He had the best stats in every department bar tackling (2nd) and heading last weekend. Vlasic had the worst and it's not the game to hope he might come good in.

Who is this Elanga kid they're all raving about? I saw it as a thumbnail on Rio nobhead's Youtube which popped up on my playlist. Apparently he is excellent and should play against us.

No idea if true but apparently Benrahma has been pictured at an Airport. Wants to get back in time for the game Saturday.

The blueprint for playing this Man Utd team is there. Attack quickly, in numbers. We have the personnel to do this, something tells me Moyes will opt for a more pragmatic approach. Maybe 5 at the back. Zouma for Vlasic I suspect and an otherwise unchanged lineup.
I’d love to see us go there and attack this United team, but Moyes like the rest of us is probably cringing inside when he’s watching some of our defending at the moment. Rightly so, he’ll try to keep it tight and look for success on the break.

Hopefully Lingard will be sold to Newcastle by tomorrow’s game so he won’t be able to come on and save them again! :D

Despite Algeria now being out of the competition I’ll be amazed if Benrahma is in the squad for this game. If the game was on Sunday, or Monday maybe. But this is a little bit too soon.

time for WHU to step up and smash the mancs!

fabianski
johnson dawson zouma cresswell
rice soucek fornals
bowen antonio vlasic

subs areola coufal diop masuaka ashby noble okoflex lanzini yarmolenko

2-1 hammers ant and bowen

tempted to rest dawson as slight injury and play diop LCB with zouma on his better side.
benrahma wont be on the bench, he played a half thursday afternoon . doubt he will be back in UK before lunchtime today .let him get over his awful AFCON. we dont need him being nit ready at old trafford !

They've been a poor side for a while now!

It infuriates me, that like Arsenal these ****ers still seem to have our number, even when they are a shambles!!

The problem is too often against these teams we're our own worst enemy. They're there for the taking, but I know now how Moyes will have us set up, too cautious, too defensive and so we'll invite pressure.

We did it 1st half against Liverpool after the early goal. In fact we did it against them last season too and got trounced.

We also did it 1st half against Chelsea to an extent and went in HT 2-1 down.

We did it against Arsenal and were never in the game. To be fair injuries and fatigue were catching up to us by then, but even so for the short spell we were 1-0 down and with 11 men on the pitch we started to build momentum and looked dangerous.

If we an get at them and get on the front foot, their expectant, entitled crowd will get on their backs, adding pressure on them and likely forcing errors. Letting them have possession and territory invites pressure on us.
