I don't think its set to be so hard as to make it unlikely to actually finish it, but it makes a record of your number of tries, per word.

I've managed to get it once on one, two and three tries. Today took 4.

Would be better with a login... as it stands, it just uses browser local storage which I tend to clear on a regular basis.

3rd day. 4 tries first day, 3 tries on the next 2. I expect I'm peaking early.

Does anyone use a particular strategy?

I tend to start with the same two words, to lay out all the vowels and some common letters.

I always begin with the word 'smart'. If that doesn't bring up much then I use 'pouch' and then if I still don't have enough I use 'fling'

If after all that I still don't have much (which is rare) then I stick in a word that ends in 'ed'

In todays game, I just needed the first two of those words. Got it in 4

One of my wattsapp groups have gone a little OTT over this. I still prefer Gardenscapes as my go to.

For those of us long in the tooth enough to remember it, isn't this just Mastermind with letters?

When I first read that I though 'mate bit near the mark?' Then saw what you actually wrote rather than what my grotty mind had thought you had wrote. :crylol:

I have deliberately gone about leaving the first word to the first 5 letter word that comes to mind, when I turn on the comp in the morning.

I always do it when I am having breakfast and before I have looked at any other site.

I think I also fell foul of the American spelling of favo(u)r, but, even with my method, I think it's now always gettable with the number of tries you've got.

Want some more 2s and 3s - that's what keeps me going back...

Just done day 5. Did it in 3 once, 4 twice & 5 twice.

No real strategy, just start with a word containing what I think are common letters.

It's all down to luck whether you get it in 2 guesses or 5.

Geezer on the box was the spitting image of my mate's old man and he was a proper bellend (even as kids we could tell he was) so I could never take this game seriously. That and the fact I was completely ****ing useless at it.

Tried that Wordle for the first time today. It would appear history is repeating itself. :furrow:
