Said that he’d been rushed to the royal London and had lost his leg in a life saving op. Poor fella. Hope he recovers.

Always a bit envious of him as a kid, in good way. Getting that close to the players and the action, part of the clubs fabric back then. Brilliant at his job too. Get better soon big man

Loyal club employee for many years, was clearly a very big bloke in the 80s and 90s but by all accounts had slimmed down.

Hope he is ok - God Bless Stevie.

Im 64 and have been going to West Ham since l was 14. Steve Bacon is as much apart of our club as as anyone I know or knew. His photograpy is magnificent. His pictures lived the moment. Bringing back to life that moment of great goals, celebrations, tackles everything that happend on that pitch and beyond. A true West Ham Great.
Steve, me and all my family wish you the very best in your recovery and hopefully you can click some more memeries for us soon.

Good luck Hammer :scarfer: :hammc:

Steve Bacon was always part of the joy of visiting Upton Park – an unmistakable figure festooned with cameras. His pictures were great, too. A real highlight of the Newham Recorder coverage, amongst others.
Hang in there, Steve. You've got a lot of Hammers rooting for you.
