TV Fixtures

Post by k-r-c »

With March just over a month away we still havent had the TV games released. Any info anywhere as to why?

The Premier League site says they should have been announced yesterday (albeit with a disclaimer) - could really do with them being announced this week to organise plans.

Latest update is that they're 'hopeful' of it being today, but no guarantees. It's an absolute joke.

Villa home and Tottenham away will be moved to Sundays, as they follow on directly from Europa league dates. Doesn't mean they will be televised of course, but pretty sure they will not be Saturday 3pm.

Liverpool away will almost certainly be on the Saturday as they play in the Champs League on the following Tuesday.

Probably 12.30 or 5.30 for TV I would think.

Spurs game will be postponed if either of us is in the FA Cup quarters as well.

Announcement not far away - BT put their fixtures up on the web site an hour ago but have taken them down again, although they often jump the gun with their announcements. We've no matches scheduled for BT in March - which does make Liverpool match likely for 5:30.

Part of the delay in announcing the broadcast fixtures are trying to schedule in some of the rearranged matches in the FA Cup weekends. The broadcasters objecting to there being FA Cup matches on at the same time as rearranged Premier League matches - Sky would not want to go up against the BBC showing a Cup match at the same time.

In trying to schedule the rearranged matches some clubs (well 2) are objecting to having to play 3 games in 8 days! It becomes a problem if these matches were originally scheduled for broadcast, then the broadcasters want to show the rearranged match with no other matches broadcast at the same time - i.e. BT or Amazon would not want Sky showing a match at the same time.

They have moved the f**king Wolves game to a Sunday despite in being in the tranche of February fixtures.

I have shelled out £150 on rail fares that is so out of order!

Absolute piss take.

That is out of order - tossers! Whilst it hasn't set me back financially, like you I assumed a s the Feb fixutres were done and the game being in Feb it wouldn't change. My Mrs has been giving me grief as she's had to move a big family dinner from the Saturday to the Sunday cos I told her West Ham were at home on the Saturday - so she kindly agreed to move it and had to tell the family who have changed arrangements etc and now i've got to tell her to move it back !!! :furrow:

I completely misinterpreted the thread title. I though there was going to be a march against TV companies moving fixtures at short notice, although having read the thread it might be a good idea.

When I sat down yesterday to book trains for all the March games I noticed that Wolves had moved. I immediately thought that I had cocked up booking a train for the Saturday and was kicking myself. I was quite pleased when I saw on here that it was a naughty change by the PL. Hopefully LNER will refund the original booking.
