FAC4: Kidderminster Harriers 1-2 AET West Ham Utd (5/2/22)

Post by Tenbury »

Aggborough Stadium Sat 5th Feb. 12.30.Emirates FA Cup 4th Rnd.

Thought I'd start this one. I've been to all the Kiddy home games this season, and as a one off home game Cuptie, would put money on them beating any team up to Championship level. We need to bear this in mind, forget the league they're in.
We should win well if we put out a reasonably strong team.
Not a bad ground, 10 mins walk from the station. Sadly the famous caterers have gone and the food's more the usual standard. Home crowd :loud but tame. Stewarding: Average. West Mercia Police :Inconsistent
Ironically it's the only game me and the lad will miss all season!

Oooh the formatting of the title is way off. We’re away for a start.

Anyway, this will be a battle. Their players will be at 150%. We’ll need to play keep ball and tire them out.

' Forget the league they're in ' - spot on. They'll raise their game and we may, in part, think we're in for an easier ride than playing in the PL. I'd start with our best side. Respect the opposition and let's not forget the prize - a place in the 5th round of the FA Cup.

When we played there in '94 I think the gate was 8,000 or so but I think it's nearer 6,500 capacity now, tight ground, good atmosphere.

I expect Noble to start. Kral has totally wasted a season of his career, if he can't get a start in this match too.

One or two new faces from our successful window, too, perhaps on the bench :newthumb:

I’m all for respecting the Cups and playing full strength to try and win the trophy, but come on, it’s a team 4th in the National League North.

Our development team beats better sides than this on a regular basis.

If Areola, Johnson, Kral, Nobes, Lanzini and the likes can’t dominate this lot, they might as well not be here.

We have Watford at home a few nights later, and we’ve lost our last two in the league in a bad fashion. We need the first team fresh and focused on that. No need whatsoever to have Dec on the pitch for 90 minutes getting kicked to **** by part time plasterers.

Full strength team with changes once / if the game is safe please.

I am looking at FAC4 and reckon that there will be the following spread of teams getting through to the next round:

1. 10 top flight
2. 5 from Championship
3. One other team

I've gone for Forest to knock out Leicester in the E Mids derby and reckon Luton will beat Cambridge (also something of a derby, too?)

Things would get tastier if Brighton and Norwich prevailed over Spurs and Wolves.

The top teams are on easy street.

I don't think the draw is fixed, per se, but the whole thing is weighted towards success for teams that have the broadest squad.

That notwithstanding, I would argue that the abolition of the replay is in fact not something that adversely affects the chances of the smaller side. If, in 120 minutes, they are level against a top flight team, they have a much better chance of prevailing in the PKs, than winning the return match.

And the two ex-professionals who made the draw are involved in the fix?

Fairly sure David James did it, he's in on the big fix?

After the Europa games I'm very confident. The only think worrying me is how confident I am. I don't see us starting many youth players, we haven't got many injuries.

Areola

Fredricks Diop Alese Johnson

Noble Kral

Vlasic Lanzini Masuaku

Yarmo

Reading lost because they played a Youth Team.

They're in the National League North. Our U23s qualified from their cup group against League one and two teams. I'd be disappointed to see Antonio, Rice, Soucek or Zouma start.

I dont think Moyes will tinker too much. The U23s have a big game kicking off at 1.00 that day, away to Man U. I think he will rest Antonio, but apart from that he will keep it strong.

Areola

Coufal
Diop
Dawson
Johnson

Noble
Kral
Lanzini

Benny
Vlasic
Yammie

Of course any new signings can be involved

Strongest team possible please.

Could not care what division they are in. Do not take and chances, treat the Cup with respect and set out to win this as well as the Europa League.
