Leicester City 2-2 West Ham Utd (13/2/22)

Post by prophet:marginal »

Part of me thinks that Leicester are slipping and sliding towards a bottom half finish and a parting of ways with their present coach.

Part of me thinks that they will also lose against Liverpool, but come out all guns blazing against us in order to get back to winning ways.

I am cheered by the thought of our display there last season, when they didn't have a single legitimate shot on target.

Not sure what to expect with respects to the Zouma situation, but he's endured the embarrassment of playing on the day of the revelations, so I for one cannot see the logic in now suspending or withdrawing him. Dawson should be his partner, too, given he's much more reliable than any other option.

So long as we have Soucek, Rice and Fornals in midfield, I expect us to give them a real game this weekend.

Wouldn't grumble at an away point, especially if it comes wrapped in a clean sheet, but we really start to make inroads on the 'games in hand' issue, if we win and one or two others in the chasing pack only draw.

Haven't felt this confident about a result all season.

Under Rodgers, they are the perfect opposition for us.

1-5 to West Ham!!

Never good when a manager publicly attacks his squad like he has. I agree in that I think he'll be gone by the summer.

I've got good memories of this ground, and I'm looking forward to going again.

Mic and Bowen to score. Another clean sheet. :hamm:

I can't see them falling into the trap of playing how they've played against us the last 3 times, surely?

No team has done that against us since we beat Liverpool.

Agree. If there was any time to do so I thought it should've been the other night. They said they played him for footballing reasons, so I'm not sure why that wouldn't apply here now, especially after fining him. Tbh, we just need to get back to the football and I think dropping him will also create more debate from the celebrity mob.

Leicester look a mess atm. I mean, how they managed to lose that Tottenham game from that position. It's the sort of thing we would manage to do under Avram Grant. There is a problem there and they are still without key players. I also wouldn't be surprised to see Rodgers go in how he has the last 3 times we've beaten them. I think he seems the type that he would want to beat us on the 4th occasion and give it an 'I told you so'.

I would freshen things up in attack. Lanzini looked good when he came on and Vlasic should probably get a chance. I'd start one of them at least.

A couple of really good passers in midfield and some quick wide players/forwards. If they can draw us out from defending deep then they have the perfect tools to exploit Dawson and Cresswell.

Haven't seemed to be able to do it to us for the last 18 months (other than a spell when we were 3-0 up and cruising) so not sure what there is to suggest the penny will finally drop for Rodgers in the next 3 days.

Hopefully Fornals and Lanzini both start, we keep and move the ball so much better with the two of them in the side.

The defence and midfield picks itself.

In attack I'd go with..

Do we know whether Zouma has been suspended? The Sun says he has but I have yet to see that elsewhere.

The club haven't said that he is, have they?

I'm sure Moyes will reveal all in his presser tomorrow.

Assuming Moyes will still play Zouma I can only see 1 change to the starting 11. Lanzini for either Benrahma or Fornals. Probably the former.

Quietly confident about this one. We have an extra 2 days rest with them playing a tough game away at Anfield tonight.

Glad its away from home as well as our performances under moyes seem to be much better away from the soulless bowl.

Think id go with the same 11 vs Watford. Tempted to bring in Lanzini, however I don't think he works well when starting with Fornals (as we saw vs Man united) & im happy to give Pablo another crack even though he played V poorly on Tuesday.

I quite like Rodgers actually, and I think it would be a shame if Leicester sacked him. I do like the way he tries to play and his attitude to youth players getting a chance is admirable.

Big question marks over their defending but he won the cup last year, I think he’s earnt the summer window to put things right imo.

I know we played against 10 for much of it but our home match against them this season was just about the best I think I've ever seen us play, and about as good an atmosphere as I can remember at a home game - certainly at the new stadium!
