West Ham Utd 1-0 Wolverhampton Wanderers (27/2/22)
Sunday, 27th Febuary, London Stadium
KO: 1400
First one I've done in a while.
I'm not confident - if the WHU of the last few weeks turns up, we'll be lucky to take anything out of the game.

If we get a glamour tie in the Europa next Friday then the Sunday may see some step up a bit.

This is a genuine must not lose.
If we do lose we essentially say goodbye to European Qualification next season.
Win and we're back in the driving seat somewhat.
No pressure lads.

If we play like we have in the last three games, we're gonna get a hiding. Wolves are way better than Leicester, Watford and Newcastle. At least half of our starting eleven need to find their mojo again and ****ing hurry up about it.

Wolves are a well run unit. Don't leak goals and control games .
Can't see anything other than a big defeat . 0-3
End of Europe I fear and a fall down the table to 8th .
Fabianski
Johnson Dawson zouma Cresswell
Rice fornals Chesters
bowen okoflex vlasic
Subs Areola Ashby alese diop longello Noble Antonio benrahma perkins
Shake it up a bit and hopefully get soucek Antonio benrahma to wake up !

Wolves have only scored 21 goals all season.hammerman11 wrote: ↑Sun Feb 20, 2022 12:10 am Wolves are a well run unit. Don't leak goals and control games .

Re: ⚽ West Ham United v Wolverhampton Wanderers: match thread
They should be clear favourites.
Their away form is excellent where they are top 4 standard, whilst we win under half of our home games. They beat us reasonably comfortably in the away game having completely owned our left side and dominated midfield. The 1-0 didn't truly reflect their dominance for much of the game. We improved late on when Lanzini came on to run the game.
I will be pleased with anything other than a defeat. This is the kind of game where the right tactics might be better employed in an empty stadium.

If Moyes can turn this team around in a week to give a better performance than they have in the last 2 months then fair play. I don't see it personally.
Another draw.

Re: ⚽ West Ham United v Wolverhampton Wanderers: match thread
we have a few injuries ogbonna masuaka coufal lanzini a lot to take out of this small squad.
I wouldnt start antonio, try bowen up top in a three with vlasic and fornals maybe
3 in midfield to try and get some control of games noble or kral to join soucek and rice maybe ?
defence looks like johnson dawson zouma cresswell just the other 6 I am unsure of . rice plus 5 others !
can only see a defeat against a decent team coming into form at the right time.
assuming top 4 is gone we need to win this to dent them and help us finish top 7 for the euro farmers league !

Re: ⚽ West Ham United v Wolverhampton Wanderers: match thread
They echo Newcastle, in that their recent form is much better than ours.
Their defence is ridiculously good; level with the top team in the league and therefore joint best.
The plus points are that Antonio has dominated Coady in at least one recent game and Wolves are stingy in terms of goalscoring - only Burnley and Norwich have scored fewer.
This looks to me therefore that the game will be played in a manner where midfield will be the main battleground. As others are suggesting, either Kral or (my shout) Fornals might need to get into the midfield mix, as part of a WHU three.

I think he'll start Mark Noble in this one and bench Soucek. Whether we see any improvement and more energy from the players , I don't think so. Moyes will need to make 3 or 4 changes to the team that faced Newcastle, be bold and go for it

I bloody well hope not too, but it is either him or Kral to sit in midfield in place of the languishing Soucek, who needs dropping

He’s gone on one season too far, his legs have gone and apart from a few cameos off the bench I don’t think we will see much more of him before he retires.
Wolves would over-run us in midfield if he starts.

I know, but Soucek definitely needs dropping. I accept he's knackered but the geezers not even giving 30% at the moment and we cannot take any passengers
