We were, I’m not sure why it’s gone cold on him. He’s in the last year of his contract and koln we’re supposedly keen to sell for a reasonable fee.
I’ll wait for Düsseldorf to tell us he hates England and is moving to Leipzig.

Not to question your info, but how do you know such intimate details about every single German/German based player?

Re: The Summer Transfer Thread 2022.
I've never heard of of Koopmeiners but he looks decent on Youtube and pretty good stats too (CL regular with Atalanta and Serie A starter).
He pings long balls like Aguerd and Szalai, seems to like a tackle as well.
Any of the Italian or Dutch contingent seen him play much? Thoughts?

Re: The Summer Transfer Thread 2022.
Really not so fussed about if the CM can tackle - Rice can do this and Soucek is not far behind. What we need is a CM who can pass/create.
By comparison Rice 168 games 6 assists 6 big chances created. JWP 306 games 34 assists 47 big chances created (according to PL stats) let alone the 6 goals v 41.
Another is Tielmans 121 appearances, 18 goals, 18 assists, 23 big chances.
We have all the more defensive orientated midfield we need in Rice and Soucek, we need a player who can do their share there sure but we need far better going forward from that position than we have.

Re: The Summer Transfer Thread 2022.
How tall is this Thilo Kehrer? It’s says 6ft1 on his Wikipedia page, but I find that even debatable. He looks like a fullback who’s been asked to play centre half.
Looks good on the floor in the clips I’ve watched, but can’t see him winning many headers.

Re: The Summer Transfer Thread 2022.
Yup it seems we need more and better players now than we did at the beginning of the window.
One thing it does show actually is that we have to be realistic having failed to rebuild earlier in previous windows and even a little slow in this one, even if we get the players of the quantity and quality we need simply integrating them is going to be tough and no quick fix, equally taking place in a far more competitive environment too. Fact is you buy players as far as possible to effect matters perhaps months or even a season in advance. The odd one or two may hit the ground running but we might not see the effects for some time. My main concern is as there are signs as brief as it has been admittedly, that the one for all, all for one commitment we have enjoyed the past two seasons may be reaching its natural conclusion. We will see if patience will on offer, a few comments on here as well as from neutral observers about a lack ‘commitment’ from players. Must admit seeing how others performed at the weekend who have imported a lot of players doesn’t instil me with confidence that we will find it easy should a few more desperately needed do come in. I can feel Moyes frustration certainly re asks the question though quite where the responsibility for this serious sudden rebuilding job lies.

Re: The Summer Transfer Thread 2022.
Isn't half Brazilian half Serbian?
Sounds like the ideal CB. A slab of iron with a nice touch.
Didn't seem to play much last season, is he actually good?
Re: The Summer Transfer Thread 2022.
Where can you go wrong with a half Serbian half Brazilian centerback — who works his ass off, buys into the fans and culture, lacks consistency but who doesn't nowadays.
Mind you, you'd also need to bring in a Szalai

My impression from Southampton is he lacks consistecy. Fans are split on him 50/50, but the one thing that they all love is that he's a "warrior" type — works his ass off and loves giving back to the fans. But I don't see why he couldn't be a back up here as we also play in Europe.
Hassenhutl also is on the hot seat and I think Lyanco under Moyes would be beneficial and not Hassenhutl who is all over the place at the moment.

What's your feeling on this one? Reports say negotiations are difficult with the suggestion being over the transfer fee rather than personal terms.
Does he fancy the move?

Re: The Summer Transfer Thread 2022.
Switching to a back 3/5 would be silly now. We don’t really have the right players for it.
Online
Looking forward to seeing if he can train on at this level or at least on thursdays to begin with.

To be fair that sounds like Flynn Downes on paper.Aztec Hammer wrote: ↑Mon Aug 08, 2022 5:23 pm For CM, I think we need a progressive passer who can retain the ball, as well as do much of the combative stuff.

Re: The Summer Transfer Thread 2022.
Buy a left back
Buy a centre back to allow Issa to leave (and he best be better)
Then work our way down the top chances created in the top European leagues til we get a bite

I think we kinda do as long as we bring in a CB.EastleighHammer16 wrote: ↑Mon Aug 08, 2022 7:19 pm Switching to a back 3/5 would be silly now. We don’t really have the right players for it.
Ideally replacing Cresswell and signing another striker too.
