Thilo Kehrer and Abdou Diallo interest West Ham! They are part of the avenues explored by the English club which wants to recruit a reinforcement in defense.

If you are buying from the PL you rarely upgrade by spending what you recover from a sale however say you could add £15m to the Benny fee and get Barnes would you do that deal?StevePottsGoalsReel wrote: ↑Mon Aug 08, 2022 1:41 pm Here's an even simpler mathematical problem.
There were 21 non-WHU players with more combined goals and assists than him in the Premier League last year - how many of them could we buy for the amount people want to sell Benrahma for?

Inevitable that we would end up going back to PSG for a loan to buy

I would have said yes a week ago but now we have cornet, barnes seems overkill!
I’m sure for £45m we can buy a top quality no 10

Re: The Summer Transfer Thread 2022.
I think Moyses definitely has an underlying frustration with Benny and a gut feeling is he's not easy to coach or won't take on board changes in his game he's been asked to make. I don't think we have seen significant improvement since he arrived even after a couple of seasons playing in a better team under arguably better coaches. As much as we all hoped he would anyway
Not saying he was **** when he arrived, he's always had something about him but he does frustrate maybe because we think he could be so much better and maybe Moyse has given up wants to put his effort in to a more mouldable player. He'll do well under a coach that will play around his strengths and will probably thrive dropping down a level - thinking Saha at palace as an example.
I'll wish him well but don't think he can raise his game any further for us

I suppose one way of looking at Benrahma, is if he played for the opposition, would you be worried about facing him?
I don't think we would.

Don't forget Attila the Hungarian either.
Put those three in and everything will suddenly look a lot better.

The more the merrier.
Zouma looks crocked, so we may as well.

Re: The Summer Transfer Thread 2022.
Best way to look at it.
Emmanuel Dennis is a more formidable foe. And he's 2 years younger.
Re: The Summer Transfer Thread 2022.
Bennys best games for us have probably been in the no 10 position. I think he's isolated a bit out wide and doesn't have a marauding full back providing much option going forward either.
Would still like us to buy before we sell. Getting rid of players doesn't seem to be much of an issue for us.
Getting players in is the opposite and I would hope Moyes only sanctions any outgoings until we have a player coming in as a guaranteed replacement. Opposed to us working around the clock and we just couldn't get it done the usual bollox statement.

Re: The Summer Transfer Thread 2022.
I think that is unfair.
He is not a poor player by any means. Yes I think we could cope with him with Coufal if he plays wide or Soucek if he played centrally but that is more about because of who they are as opposed to any failings he has.
Many PL sides struggle with him, just not those who are currently better than us.
As people have said we have had 2 years to try to develop him and if the feeling is in the coaching staff there is no more to really come then it is not wrong to look elsewhere BUT we must have that alternative as good as signed because he does provide some value (assuming his not kicking off behind the scenes).

I think this is very close to the truth, particularly the bit I've highlighted. Frustration is the vibe I get from Moyes wrt Benrahma, and that's why I think he's open to moving him on for a player that will play the way Moyes wants.Long Shot wrote: ↑Mon Aug 08, 2022 1:53 pm I think Moyses definitely has an underlying frustration with Benny and a gut feeling is he's not easy to coach or won't take on board changes in his game he's been asked to make. I don't think he's poor at all.
I just think for one reason or another he's lost his spark.
I think he still has a place here, he seemed to thrive in those early Europa league games last season.
Hoping he can rekindle some of that this time around.

Re: The Summer Transfer Thread 2022.
Fornals, Lanzini, Benrahma and Vlasic should (arguably) all be playing in the number 10 role and not wide left. Cornet should give us the chance to see that happen

Re: The Summer Transfer Thread 2022.
I'd rather only one of the CB options suggested and a full time left back!
Flexibility is great, especially for us a LCB who can cover LB, but we have two vacancies at the moment at the back and one is a first choice LB!

Would no doubt get you someone like Dani Olmo at RB Leipzig.Romfordboy wrote: ↑Mon Aug 08, 2022 1:51 pm I would have said yes a week ago but now we have cornet, barnes seems overkill!

Being watched by a lot of big clubs in Europe but none have made the jump on him yet. Far from proven, but huge potential talent.
