Sullivan is just so out of touch with wage demands. He still thinks £100k a week wages gets you a top player. It wouldve 3 years ago, but alas, no longer and the players we want, will command £150 - £200k a week. There is the reason, right there, we struggle in these windows and the reason, we will eventually lose, Rice, Bowen and Zouma too. He could begin.by getting Brady to start getting some commercial revenue in. She claims to be such a business guru and know all there is to know about busines so set her loose and start earning her corn. Christ, she earns enough

I think I'm the only one thinking and waiting for the left back position to be filled as the absolute priority..

I really think it's so important. It's rumbled on with me for far longer than recent mistakes in that position. In-game defensive positioning has always been a problem with Cress....normally he covers it up well and his left foot is great.... And he has done so well over his whole career here.....a stalwart...But now, with age, it comes to all of us......it's become a gaping problem that everyone can see.

Help me, I've never felt this about a left back.

Then, onto the striker...... :winker:

The Mirror are reporting this morning that we've agreed personal terms with Danjuna and are just trying to negotiate the fee down.

That would make sense with the rumours of Lingard wanting to stay up North/demanding too much money.

I hope this is being done with Moyes' say, we don't want another benchwarmer.

What's happened with the Everton financial over-spending scandal from the past two seasons
Wouldn't paying a quarter of a million a week on a new signing be a bit like sticking their middle finger up to the PL rules

(my question mark key isn't working).

Yeah, the classic next stage in all Sullivan negotiations. Next, the add ons like 1,000 goals in 3 years, payments on the never never and then finally, what about a loan?
before the whole thing collapses

They were able to write off a load as Covid allowed them certain leeway. Also, some of that spend is on infrastructure - new stadium etc which isn’t under the same scrutiny.

It’s why Burnley and Leeds didn’t continue their legal case.

Then if it starts to pick up pace he'll flip after a 'call from his source.'

Easy this in the know lark.

Probably easy for a journalist to put out some nonsense like that with the proviso that we're 'agreeing a fee' to give them an out when it doesn't happen.

Then other media outlets pick it up.

In reality the whole Danjuma thing could have easily been his agent seeking us out and us saying no thanks.

Chelsea rate Broja at £40m at 20 yet they want to sell him? Doesn't that set off alarm bells?

Haaland and was £18m at the same age. Get real.

To be fair Chelsea are awful at judging strikers.

They sold Abraham for less than that and he scored 21 goals in two seasons.

Then they bought Lukaku for £100 million and loaned him out a year later.

I do see that and have said so myself. Pace, power, runs the channels, can strike a ball and good at quick transitions. I can absolutely see why the comparison is made.

It still comes down to though what he doesn't (hasn't had a chance to?) do.

He is an end ball striker not an out ball striker. He has shown nothing in the build up phase and his chance creation is almost nonexistent.

But the good makes him worth a punt, but that is £20m-25m in my head and nowhere near the £45m Chelsea are asking.

A long way of saying yes I'd sign him, but not at all costs.
