Re: England cricket 2022
Due to a poor pitch the hundred final was actually a good game, one of the few close ones in this format.
Gleeson had a shocker in the final ‘set’
Don’t care who wins, I hate this franchise nonsense but there was tension for a full house of families at Lords.
The new batsmen being on strike is a great addition though and could be added to T20 and ODIs.

My 11 year old went yesterday with some family friends and absolutely loved it.
Which to be fair to the ECB, was the remit of the competition.

Re: England cricket 2022
Whichever way you view the rounders competition, it's astonishing how desperate it's backers have been to justify it. culminating yesterday in some sports correspondent on the BBC, yesterday, claiming a record crowd @Lords of 20,000
When I watched 10 minutes of the semi finals, I was staggered at the gaps in the crowd, but seeing as hardly any 'stars' of the mens game could be bothered to join, maybe it wasn't that surprising. One massive upside, the 50 over RLC enjoyed remarkably good crowds while allowing many young County players a chance.

How long before Alex does 'something' and is sent home? In all seriousness it is about time he got another go, we have forgiven many others for 'misdemeanours' far, far quicker.

Think it’s good timing for Hales, he’s served his time and he’s in very good form.
If Salt opens with Hales, Buttler drops to 3 or 4 with Malan it looks a pretty good team on paper imo.

It's going to be a very interesting 3-days when play resumes tomorrow as I think Stokes and McCullum will go all-in. Expect fireworks!

Might only need two days here. Can’t really blame the Saffers for any of the wickets. Classic English opening bowling.

Re: England cricket 2022
Yeah, superb bowling.
What’s interesting to me, and without tempting fate, is how we’ll bat later today. Root will play a critical role here I think. Score big and we’re batting once.

I can’t get my head around Stokes sometimes. Ridiculously OTT at the crease today just when his team needed him to be more sensible.

Yup, captaincy has made him bat like an idiot. It's quite amazing he can't see it.

Re: England cricket 2022
Not much point in bowling out the oppo if we collapse as well. If this ends up a close game I hope he takes responsibility for batting like a plumBend it like Repka wrote: ↑Sat Sep 10, 2022 8:31 pm Yup, captaincy has made him bat like an idiot. It's quite amazing he can't see it.
