Archer is out for the foreseeable with a stress fracture in his back.

We won't see him in international red ball cricket again surely?

What a shame for him and us.

I’ve never been sure that his focus. Why bowl 20 overs a day for England when you can bowl 4 in the IPL and the like and earn mega money. I said in this thread many pages back, I won’t be surprised if he never plays Test Cricket again.

An MCC member told me last night that (amazingly) as of yesterday there were 16,000 unsold tickets for today. Anyone near Lord's today..... fill your boots!

£110 for Compton Lower (worst seats in the ground) when I looked a couple of months ago.

In today’s climate, that’s just ridiculous.

Yup, prices are the same for day 2, right now, just looked.

I'd love to go but £110. Plus train up etc. No thanks

So we are world beaters again.... Forgot this was on to be honest. Missed all the fun.

Just seen NZ chose to bat.... Seems a bit 'Nasser' like at this point but we'll see.

So McCullum’s instructions to the bowlers to concentrate on getting wickets rather than economy rate is proving dividends - Kiwis 13-4!!!

Leech has concussion not a good start for him. He has been withdrawn and England will have a replacement (not announced yet - has to be like for like so I suppose a spinner will be heading down the Motorway)

Bloke can't stay fit, healthy for a second.

Really liking this field Stokes is going with and clever use of Bairstow in prime position in the cordon.

Potts having a field day 3 wickets now (and one overturned via DRS) , another low 80s bowler doing well in green conditions (but he has to put it there and he has)

Matt Parkinson joining the Test Match, he might not get much bowling though at this rate.

Nice touch from the MCC to allow 23 seconds applause for Warne at over 23.

Strange DRS appeal - Seemed to hit the pad first but the video-umpire just threw it out really quickly as bat first, surely it warranted a closer look.

F*cks sake, I had no idea. On second thoughts, I'm amazed anyone's turned up.( the Kiwi batsmen, may well have thought they had to pay.... )

45-7 NZ swinging away now in an attempt to make something, anything. What are Boult and Southee going to do on this wicket in these conditions?

Even though it is 98-8, once again we are a bit **** and polishing off the tail. Score has more than doubled from 6 down, the Aussies would have had them out for 60.

Pulling the 'ball out of shape' ploy, maybe the new one wrong fly to the boundary quite so often.

ADDITIONAL :

4fer Potts, will him or Jimmy get the 5fer. Potts dismissal earlier that was highlighted at lunch had Jimmy written all over it, 4 out swingers followed by an in-swinger that bowled him. Classic Anderson and good signs from someone so young.

Potts now pulled a muscle and gone off - he'll fit right in to the bowling unit..

Oh Crawley. Vince mark two.

You had to go on, it’s no good having some of the most beautiful shots.

Better than the usual 14-3 though.
