England cricket 2022
Robinson injured for the first test against WI starting this week.
Woods, Woakes and Overton are playing with Mahmood possibly coming in over Leach.

New era and seeing Overton potentially opening the bowling isn't particularly inspiring is it?

I don't think anyone would have guessed that bowling attack would be lining up for the first Test post-Ashes! But we are where we are. Would like to see Mahmood given a go actually, think he shows some promise.

The big reset going well.
I have no idea what they've seen in Alex Lees to think he's a test opener to be honest and what they're thinking with this bowling line up.
Surely you give someone like Mahmood a try?

Re: England cricket 2022
Didn't even know this was on (I missed our game on Sunday as well). Losing it.
Seems I have not missed much, new year, same old *****.
I see it is on BT again - off to other places for me.... (I already pay for Sky not doing BT as well)

Re: England cricket 2022
I forgot the game started today. That's what England have done to me.
51/4. So much for the Crawley revolution then, is he a one good innings in 8 player?
As much as I was happy to leave the two old guys at home, if the option is woakes and Overton then no thanks. Hardly revolutionary is it?
We are a mess.

Re: England cricket 2022
Bairstow currently proving that is you give someone enough chances eventually he might come good.
I'm going to go against the grain here, maybe this should be in the controversially thread, but I find David Gower's commentary boring.

Bairstow really has stopped up since coming back in.
Foakes also showing why he should have got his spot back after his injury.

Good fight back back from the middle order.
Possible a big day for Wood and Overton. Wood in particular being the senior bowler.

Clearly the way forward is just to play wicketkeepers, bring Buttler and Billings back and we'll rule the world...

I'm a big supporter of the women's game, but f*** me the ladies were village against the West Indies yesterday in the World Cup.

Re: England cricket 2022
Do the England selectors suddenly think Woakes is going to look threatening away from England opening the bowling?
Overton will break the habit of his test career and stop chucking at least one pie an over?
Hopefully they'll shut me up but it's all a bit like we wanted Broad and Anderson out at any cost. Perhaps Root insisted on it as I don't think all was well between them in Australia.
