Usually it's the ODI batters bailing out the bowlers...

Re: England cricket 2022
I think Pollack made a good point last night, if it doesn't work from the start perhaps someone needs to calm down for a bit, get in and take the pressure off.

Re: England cricket 2022
I've always thought T20 was like that tbh.
Has anyone ever dominated over a sustained period?
Domestically or internationally??

Re: England cricket 2022
Nobody really dominates for any length of time in T20s. Plenty of different winners of the World Cup over the years. Then again it feels like it happens almost every few months.
England's insistence on having a right hand left hand combination when batting in Cardiff the other night seemed to really upset the applecart. Woakes and Archer (if he's ever fit) make a big difference to the bowling line up.

Re: England cricket 2022
Officially yes but it does look like he was pushed.
I’m a big fan of Buttler but I’ve seen a lot of comments saying he’s taken on too much now with the captaincy, keeping wicket and opening the batting. I hope it works out for him but I think he needs to smarten up a bit with some of his field settings and game plans.

Re: England cricket 2022
As WK Buttler is having to rely heavily on Jordan with regards to bowling and fielding advice, and unfortunately taking on the captaincy seems to have affected his batting.

Re: England cricket 2022
I don't really understand why Bairstow isn't opening in T20, nor why he doesn't have the gloves in one or both of the white-ball formats.
Bairstow is in the form of his life right now, and a fine opener. Also, Buttler has a huge amount to think about. Bairstow is, for my money, as good a keeper as Buttler, if not better so it would make sense to give him the gloves and let Buttler concentrate on skippering the side.
We have so many good young batsmen coming through, I don't think it would harm Buttler to have him concentrate on skippering the side and letting the batsmen score some runs.

Re: England cricket 2022
Jason Roy has been in horrible nick as well which hasn't helped. If he smashes an early 50 plus it takes the pressure off.
