And Seville are currently 2 1 up against Real Madrid
I'm really not sure beating Bordeaux, even by such a margin, can really be considered a performance now. That club is falling apart and the team conceded 77 goals in 32 games :horror:

Bordeaux also makes Lyon look like Croydon town centre.

One of the most beautiful cities I have ever had the honour of visiting.

If you wanna look how bad it is, just look at the goals, the second and the fourth ones being ridiculous at that level. The penalty we gave them is also a big joke, the kind of presents we offered everyone this year.

The ones that appreciated young RB Gusto can also check the first and the third goals which all came from crosses from him.

It's funny, because these 2 cities share some common characteristics. They both grew wealthy upon activities that are very questionable ethically to modern eyes (silk in Lyon, with a lot of child labor, and slave trade in Bordeaux) and had a disastrous urban development in the 1960's and 1970's with the cars invading every street, the traffic being unsustainable and the air quality dropping to critical levels. They both worked a lot over the last 2 decades to make it over, quite successfully in both case. They also both got a huge economic boost by being now 2 hours from Paris via fast train (since 1983 for Lyon and circa 2010 for Bordeaux).

I like Bordeaux as well, there is a real "douceur de vivre" there. I'm pretty sure it's a nice place to live in. But - and this is all very personal, very subjective - I consider it not as beautiful as cities like Nice, Strasbourg, Lille or even Nantes. Not even mentioning some smaller ones like La Rochelle, Saint Malo, Colmar or Annecy, all dreamy postcard places. As we say here, "il en faut pour tous les goûts" :winker:

The beaches on the cote d'argent are amongst the finest in the world, too.

As they say over here, 'be lucky' Misko, its been good to have you on here.

Could watch the last 20 seconds of that for 20 minutes straight.

It was strange, watching on a sofa, because they barely ever showed where the WHU fans were.

The footage in this is best by far of both

(a) our lot up in the corner, and
(b) Rice's goal. He had seen the defender 'clear' the ball there before. I'd like to think he cottoned onto it, so that he knew he'd take advantage the next time.

Seriously do believe it to be one of the best matches of football he's played.

It is indeed subjective, but it’s definitely more beautiful than Lille or Nantes.

Not as beautiful as Toulouse, Perpignan or Carcassonne though.

We used some of your recommendations but I have to say the best meal we’ve eaten in a very long time was at Fiston in the Vieux Lyon. Some tasty local delicacies but the fish dumpling in pastry was next level! And the Rhone region wine…

I've never tried it, thank you for the feedback!

Anyway, proclaiming you have the definitive, comprehensive restaurant selection is just impossible. I'm glad you enjoyed it!
