I'd like to see Yarmolenko in for this. He has the skill to cause Burnley a lot of problems.

We can bring Antonio on at half time or on the hour. Let's be smart and use what we have. We have more than 11 players who can cause Burnley issues.

Like that.
Obviously only rest those that need it and might struggle. Antonio, Soucek and Fornals prime candidates

We need to win this game in order to manage the run in and there is a seven day break after this.

I'm not sure I'd change anything from last night's starting XI, but Moyes will probably swap the 'keepers.

——————————Fabianski———————————-

-Johnson——Dawson——Diop———Cresswell-

———————-Rice————Soucek—————————

——————————Lanzini————————————-

-Fredericks———-Bowen———————Benrahma-

Subs: Areola, Coufal, Masuaku, Alese, Noble, Fornals, Vlasic, Yarmolenko, Antonio.

I don’t think Coufal will keep his place, as he’s already played 2 games in 5 days. And even took a knee to the groin in the 1st half last night. Fab, Cresswell and Benrahma should be fine to play as the first 2 haven’t played since last Sunday, and Benrahma only had a few minutes yesterday. Johnson’s young so he should be fine to play again. Lanzini I’d try and play to get his fitness up more. He looked tired when we took him off last night. But the only way to get fitter is play more minutes, like in pre season. I’d drop Antonio to the bench to give him a bit of a breather. Give him no more than 30 minutes off the bench. Bowen up top and Fredericks on the right. Although as it’s at home especially, this game (dare I say it) might not be a bad one to start Yarmolenko in. I was even contemplating playing Noble instead of Rice. But you try telling Rice not to play!

In reality I reckon my team will be spot on other than Moyes continuing to flog Antonio to death! :D He’ll play instead of Fredericks.

Fabianski

fredericks——Dawson——Diop———Cresswell-

Rice————Soucek————Lanzini—

vlasic———-Bowen———Benrahma

subs areola johnson alese masuaka noble fornals yarmolenko antonio okoflez

burnley are well equiped for a battle with antonio who was rightly knackered last night. a few smaller darty players may be a better option.
would like to rest soucek but is kral to be trusted this late in the season when he hasnt been up to now
johnson had a slight hamstring issue so may be best to rest him.
coufal needs to be rested as just back.
would like to rest dawson but could alese come in for him ?

1-0 hammers not pretty win. benrahma grabbing a goal.

should be a party atmosphere at the rocking bowl !

This isn’t the game to rest players, as we’ve got a week break between Burnley and Chelsea. It’s the Arsenal game that we need to rest players, with the Tottenham and Brentford games are clear evidence of why.

That being said I would rotate the team slightly to freshen things up, because I think that gives us a better chance of winning. If we want top 7 and to rest players vs Arsenal we need to win this game and put the pressure on Wolves and Man U.

I’d go:

————————Fab
Fred—Dawson—Diop—Creswell
————-—-Rice—-Soucek
Vlasic———-Lanzini———Benny
———————-Bowen

Antonio to come on for the last half hour, plus possibly Noble.

We need to make changes. Tiredness? Jadedness? Those players expected to play in the EL semi will almost certainly have one eye on not getting injured or over exerting themselves.

Yarm, Vlasic, Dawson, Fredericks, Masuaku all need to be utilised.

doubt coufal can start on sunday . just back from injury and got a few blows last night .

difficult decisions for moyes . he will have to go with a few untrusted players such as fredericks diop benrahma vlasic maybe even masuaka !

agree we need to win this one to keep us up there . arsenal must be licking their lips playing us in between our euro games. they are one lucky team! realistically I can only see defeats to chelski and arse. we need to beat burnley and norwich in this run to keep up.

hopefully we can get it going as the players will need a boost as bound to be tired against a fully rested burnley side who are fighting for survival.

Some of these players need to be trusted against Burnley at home. Cresswell and Benrahma both had the night off almost and should both come in as will Fabianski. Fredericks, although never rated him much, has been fine in his last 2 games and is another to consider. Vlasic also. We don’t have to rest a whole XI, but looking at how we’ve played against Tottenham and Brentford after these games, I think it would be sensible.
