Tuschel said some very complimentary things about Rice midweek. - that’s all.

Just watched the penalty incident again and Lukaku never even touched the ball ,never had control of it and cresswell was alongside him with Fabianski coming out to meet him.

Unfortunately for Dawson, his pull on the outside was enough contact to catch attention and was deliberate enough that when he actually tried to pull away and not pull Lukaku, he caught his arm and fouled him.

He may not have to go down, but defenders arent really allowed to pull shirts and arms when they run.

It was a cruel defeat, undeserved, but it is what it is. The win from today was Wolves losing.

I actually think what cost us was the ref not giving us our corner when they nicked the ball off Bowen at their corner. It had gone out of play and we got caught on the break.

They are probably more relieved that we didn't go above "United" than they are that Chelski won.

Explains the odd sending off for Balbuena last season after kicking the ball.

The penalty incident is one of them where you have to ask yourself if it would have been given the other way around.

Would Thiago Silva:

a) have had a penalty awarded against him
b) had the yellow card overturned to a red

I’m sure we all know the answer to b), if not both.

Been on the train with some of these :clown:

They think they’re the victims of fallout from the Ukraine war and that there’s a bias against them in favour of the Big Two.
Consider themselves upstarts of some sort.

Not surprised by that Premier League post. All about the ££££.

Not so long ago Uefa, the premier league and others were whingeing about the European Super League.

Not soon after, they changed the format of the champions league to generate more revenue and we get to see posts like that from a supposedly neutral organization.

So, here's the thing. If that had have been Antonio and Silva would we have won a penalty and Silva a Red?? Of course not.

As for Benrahma? I thought he had an ok game however, it is obvious, his upper body strength is very weak. Get him on Antonio's 'muscle' regime in the close season and I think we would see a much, much better player.

Imo, Benrahma can only a fight for a backup role, assuming we intend on strengthening the squad. We need a left winger. Bennie has no pace, he has no left foot, he isn’t confident. He has a wonderful right foot, and I think he has the ability to challenge opposition players more than he does. But He doesn’t do it. I can only assume he doesn’t back himself the way he needs to to be THE man.

WCpete wrote: Sun Apr 24, 2022 6:53 pm A little frustrating because Dawson had position on him and 9.9 times out of 10 the striker isn't going to be able to get by him. Somehow Lukaku was able to edge past him. Wasn't even that Craig was particularly outmuscled. He just opened his body up and Lukaku took the invitation. Had he kept his back turned Lukaku doesn't get in.

There are two arm to arm contacts there.

The first is easily outside. That's the one where it could be said Dawson has gone for a grab.

The second is when Lukaku throws his arm backwards, arguably more forcefully than he'd need to, if all he wanted to do was run on to the ball.

He goes to the floor because he realises he can't safely get it around our keeper.

Minimal foul that clearly neither led to the actual denial of the chance, nor did it arise in the box.

Would have kept a clean sheet if all they'd conceded was a free kick.

Their average attendance until 1994 was never over 22k. Their average highest was under 20k back in the mid 80’s.

The vast majority of their support is based on winning trophies under Abramovic. I lived in Kent right at the point where that started happening, and saw these home county “United” fans suddenly realise how easy a trip on South West trains was to see a more “local” team.

Frauds. Everything about them. Traditionally and realistically Fulham have more about them, and QPR have a similar sized actual fanbase.
