I was lucky enough to have skived lectures the day Ronnie did his 308 second max. Took longer to pick my jaw off the floor.brothernero wrote: ↑Mon Apr 25, 2022 8:21 pm I have been a huge Snooker fan my entire life, but despite being an avid watcher for 40+ years remarkably I have never seen a Maximum break of 147 completed live
That is until now having just watched Neil Robertson make one at the Crucible.
FINALLY!!!!
West Ham to win on Thursday and this would a truly awesome week.

Williams is one of my all time faves along with Bingham. So agree. Plus I'm going to mention it again but Bingham is a West Ham United supporter so makes him a bloody good egg in my opinion.Up the Junction wrote: ↑Wed Apr 27, 2022 10:07 am It'd be good to see Bingham win it again. Just starting on BBC2 again now.
(Being a West Ham fan does not always make you a bloody good egg, sometimes you get bad ones such as James Corden)

Another fan of Mark Williams here. He’s in a titanic battle with Bentao that has all the makings of a final frame thriller

I've never seen Williams play as well as he did in that last session.
Unbelievable snooker. Wins 13-11 having been 10-8 behind.
Oldest player (at 47) to make the semis since Ray Reardon.

Re: Snooker: World Championships 2022
What a wonderful match between Williams and Bingtao.
Personally I thought that Bingtao (future World Champion surely, great player and only 22) was having all the run of the ball, but Williams never seems to let things like that effect him. 11-10 down and cool as Ice he wins 3 on the trot to win 13-11.
All to play for in the remaining two QFs matches as well. Trump & Bingham level at 8-8 and Lisowki holding in there v Higgings at only 7-8 down.
Come on Bingham, Lisowski. Best of luck.

Amazing stuff. He did contemplate not to long ago quitting the game altogether. Then did the "sight right" thing, fell back in love with the game. Won his 3rd World Title and now back to being one of the very top players.Up the Junction wrote: ↑Wed Apr 27, 2022 5:38 pm I've never seen Williams play as well as he did in that last session.

Those winning clearances in the last two frames were sensational from Williams. What a fighter he is and would love to see him win it again.

This Lisowski v Higgins match is a cracker
Would be good to see a different name in the semi-finals, plus Higgins is a helmet

Ronnie, Williams, Higgins in the semis, 30 years after they all turned pro. That is mental.

He's class CRS, incredibly was 33-1 at the start of the tournament.Chicken Run Supreme wrote: ↑Wed Apr 27, 2022 7:31 pm Those winning clearances in the last two frames were sensational from Williams. What a fighter he is and would love to see him win it again.
One of my favourite sporting fellow countrymen that I have a lot of time for, bit of a character as well.

Sure is, 14 titles between them.
Ronnie yet to be tested but has to be strong favourite.
My heart says Mark Williams, head says (reluctantly) Ronnie. Hope I’m wrong

Yep. That's my man gone. Didn't see Bingham's last session, what happened there? Was 8-6 up, wasn't he?

I reckon this is Higgins's to lose now. Unless Ronnie's got his head absolutely right, the Scotch's matchplay ought to be too much for him.

Was 8-5 up at one stage and Bingham should have stretched it to 9-5 but missed a black and that was a turning point and the momentum was with Trump and Bingham couldn’t get a foothold.Up the Junction wrote: ↑Thu Apr 28, 2022 10:20 am Yep. agree - i think Higgin's has Ronnie's number 9 times out of 10 and this will be one of those occasions (although i want to see Ronnie progress)dasnutnock3 wrote: ↑Thu Apr 28, 2022 10:44 am I reckon this is Higgins's to lose now. Trump off to a flying start
Williams a little out of sorts so far and really not getting the rub if the green either

This frame (4) could be crucial. I dislike Trump, great player but one of the most jammiest players on the circuit. Never seen a player who gets as many flukes as him.Chicken Run Supreme wrote: ↑Thu Apr 28, 2022 2:05 pm Trump off to a flying start
