Re: The Triple Crown
Having visited Churchill Downs, Keenland and the Coolmore stud in Versailles last November, I have taken a keen interest in the US racing scene. Enjoyed the coverage last night accompanied by a glass or two of Angels Envy and what a shock result. My selections finished out of the frame.
I'm hoping to be at the 150th Kentucky Derby in 2024.
It's always gonna be pretty tough for a horse to win the triple crown with the 3 races normally run over a 5 week period, be interesting to see if last nights winner turns up at Pimlico for the Preakness

Re: The Triple Crown
As I suspected, the Derby winner, Rich Strike, has by-passed the Preakness. Runner Up, Epicenter is a short priced favourite and should take all the beating IF the Derby hasn't taken the edge off him, the same applies to Oaks winner, Secret Oath. So I'm gonna take a chance on the lightly raced Early Voting who was just touched off by Derby 5th Mo Donegal at Aqueduct in April.

Re: The Triple Crown
decent race, nowhere near as exciting as the Kentucky one..
only 9 runners I think, so not a lot of traffic to get though and the winner was in pole position and didn't have to come from behind to win it.
on to The Belmont.....

Re: The Triple Crown
The final leg of Tripe Crown is Saturday night at Belmont and Derby winner, RICH STRIKE, takes his place in the small 8 runner field. Lightly raced WE THE PEOPLE has the inside draw and will probably go off favourite and may have the early speed to dictate the pace. Oaks runer-up NEST is an interesting runner but fillies don’t have a good record in the race and Secret Oath who beat her at Churchill Downs was well beaten in the Preakness. Derby 5th MO DONEGAL is currently vying for favouritism and his win at Aqueduct in April got a boost when Early Voting won the Preakness. He probably would have finished closer to Rich Strike in the Derby if he didn’t go via Downtown Louisville on the home term and I’m going to take him to reverse the form with Rich Strike and take the prize at odds of around 3/1.

Re: The Triple Crown
looking forward to the race myself. small field but I think, it might be the longest of the 3 races ???????????
so the England game, then the race, then a cracking MMA card finishing up with 2 title fights. gonna be a pretty long day I reckon...
better get a LARGE pot of coffee brewed..
