A lot to play for for both sides
I think we will give them a good game but ultimately lose 3-1
Tough decision for Moyes regarding Noble. Does he let his heart rule.his head qnd either start him or save a substitution to bring him on, or neither?

No room for sentimentality, we are professional football club and any points picked up here could be vital in getting us into Europe next year.Crouchend_Hammer wrote: ↑Sun May 08, 2022 6:37 pm A lot to play for for both sides

If Moyes thinks Noble is the best option at any point during the game then fair enough, but we need to approach this in the same way we would any other game, regardless of the occasion.

Noble shouldn’t start for me. With a week rest we’re capable of holding this Man City team.
Let Noble come on towards the end for an ovation.
Soucek comes back, probably for the injured Benrahma.

Noble on for 20 mins to help us hold out for a 1-0 win.
City can lose a game and still beat Liverpool to the title now, so we can have the best of both worlds!

Re: West Ham Utd vs Manchester City: match thread
I've got a sneaking suspicion that Gerrard and Villa are going to derail Liverpool's efforts to win the title, in the midweek match, whereas City will turn over Wolves.
That would mean that they'd be 5 points ahead, with only 2 games left.
I've also got a feeling that the team will give a performance in Noble's honour and that goals - probably at both ends - are a given.
If we could win this, it would be a brilliant climax to the season.

Re: West Ham Utd vs Manchester City: match thread
They’ve got Wolves on Wednesday in the build up to this game. It would be helpful in more ways than 1 if they won that game. The feckers will probably lose to Wolves and then beat us, just to rub it in!
It’ll be interesting to see if they change a few players for both their games this coming week.
We need to see if Antonio, Dawson and Benrahma are okay. Moyes hinted that Antonio & Dawson’s injuries didn’t look too bad.
I’ve said for quite a while now I strangely fancy us to pick up something from this game. I still do.

I can see us winning this ..... and then shipping three against Brighton.
I think our players will be really up for it and not just because it's Noble's last home game - win and all we've got to do is better Man U's result against Palace and I reckon they'll struggle to get a result.

Re: West Ham Utd vs Manchester City: match thread
If everyone's at the top of their game we might come away with a draw .
Then come Brighton and Hove Albion against whom we have drawn our last 6 matches with .
That would put us on 57 points .
We need 59 .
So we better win one of those 2 games .

If we beat Man City then 6th place is in our hands.
Sounds easy, doesn't it
I'd start Areola. Hard to say about the rest without knowing the extent of the injury situation.

Re: West Ham Utd vs Manchester City: match thread
I tell you how this one will end. The scores level at 1-1, with West Ham being awarded a 96th minute penalty, comfirmed after a VAR review. Up steps Mr West Ham who sends Ederson the wrong way and he exists the scene and disappears into the sunset. What a way for him to go out. For him, the next best thing to holding a trophy aloft

Re: West Ham Utd vs Manchester City: match thread
We could well win this with our strongest team I think.
Citeh will be gutted we are out of the EL final.
A weeks rest, full strength, knowing that a win here and vs Brighton guarantees us 6th and EL football again next season.
They’ll still win the league after I think.
Make it happen West Ham.

They finished today with a 19 year old and Fernandinho playing CB. No sign of Walker either.
Have they got an injury crisis?

Dias, Walker and Stones could be out for the rest of the season! Ake is a doubt for Wolves game too.

Bang up for this. Citeh showed themselves to be bottlejobs against Real Madrid. As long as we can keep it tight I think we can worry them.

Man C have a fair amount of injuries at the back, hopefully Wolves give them a really tough game but Man C win it. We have a weeks rest, all be it unsure of who will be fit at CB for us today, we can get something from this game, I can feel it in my water.
