It's been about 30 years, but I do remember Funkadelic Maggot Brain being quite enjoyable.

We used to play a game at Uni, every time Bob Marley says Jammin (in the song Jammin of course) you have to take a toke.
Surprised my lungs still work.

Good call, Bob needs representation. Used to quite like some Dub back in the day, but never knew what I was listening to, probably some Scratch Perry mixes or something.

A stand - out and quite genuine, even though you clearly remembered it the next day (minus marks for that). Most stuff on this thread is by-stoners-for-stoners but this is a place where links have been followed, idea-searches have gone wrong and mis-types have been made. At 3am. This is where 'intoxicated' is at!

Guess there’s an argument that Eurovision lends itself to altered states. Probably more alcopops and bad wine than Jamaican woodbines, but either intoxicant would be better than trying to watch it sober

Re: Music to enjoy when intoxicated
I always thought that particular strand of pointilistic micro-house lent itself well to this kind of listening experience, especially on earphones:
Also, on a different vibe, there's a kind of slow, heavier desert-psych strand that works:
And then, for when Neil from the Young Ones is coming round, there's Eleh:
