FAC / Weekend's Games
I do not care who wins the FA Cup.
So, moving on, Sunday is a mixture of matches arguing over final (safe) positions, or
Spurs - Burnley (important for both)
Leeds - Brighton
Wolves - Norwich
Everton - Brentford.
A Leeds win puts the squeak into week 38.
If they don't win though, I reckon they're goners, for sure.
Geordie Arabia - Crybaby Cheats on Monday.
Forest - Blunts in the play offs, too.

Ridiculous the FA Cup is played before the PL season ends. Takes so much away from the game.

Re: FAC / Weekend's Games
I agree, but I still wouldn't watch it this time, even if it was on its own at the end of the season, like it should be!
Would be brilliant, if just once again, it was two teams that weren't in Europe by some other means anyway.
A double bubble trophy and following tour scenario.

Re: FAC / Weekend's Games
I've got more interest in Forest V Blunts.
Who cares about the ruined fa cup unless anyone outside top 6 in final. And even then the drubbing to poor Watford a few years back put me off it more.

Re: FAC / Weekend's Games
Just shows the diminishing relevance of the F A Cup these days. Back in the day tickets for the final were like gold dust. Now they can be picked up for next to nothing. I coach a kids Under 16 team and 3 of this year's boys are Chelsea fans. I managed to get 4 tickets in the same block so I'm taking them to the game. That would have been impossible not too long ago.

Definitely. I used to be so excited for the FA Cup final and would loved to have gone, but not bothered at all now. Saying that, I’d still love to win it!Kermit wrote: ↑Fri May 13, 2022 11:02 pmJust shows the diminishing relevance of the F A Cup these days. Re: FAC / Weekend's Games
Burnley, Leeds, Brentford and Norwich (somehow) to win, please!
Realistically, I reckon the Spuds will thump Burnley, as will Wolves to Norwich. I think Brighton will win, but it won’t be a thrashing. And I fancy a score draw at Goodison.
As for the dead FA Cup, I have a feeling Chelsea will win it.

Re: FAC / Weekend's Games
We should probably be a bit grateful that the “big clubs” are in the cup final every year because it pushes down a place in the league to qualify for Europe.
Would obviously like to win it but it works in our favour if we’re looking to finish top 7 for the next few years.

I don't think Leeds will beat Brighton. I might be wrong, but this is a very Brighton team and I think they'll have too much for themfunky chicken wrote: ↑Sat May 14, 2022 9:00 amBurnley, Leeds, Brentford and Norwich (somehow) to win, please!

Re: FAC / Weekend's Games
If Leeds don't beat Brighton it looks as if it's goodbye time for them tbh. Surely Burnley will pick up at least one point from their remaining 3 games.
Re: FAC / Weekend's Games
No interest in the FA Cup final.
Rarely watch it now. I think the last one I watched was when Wigan won. No interest in games between the 'big six'.
Years ago we used to watch it from about 10am. It was the biggest football day of the year. Shops would be quiet. All day TV coverage on BBC & ITV. Each would follow one team's coach to Wembley. Interviews with fans on the numerous special trains to Wembley. Last game of the season other than the Home Internationals and occasional postponed league game where one club could gain an advantage but knowing what was needed an avoid relegation.
Never the same since they stopped Cup Final It's a Knockout.

Re: FAC / Weekend's Games
Ooh, the magic of the cup, isn’t it. Two minnows who battled past the established big teams, with gutsy displays of defending, poached goals against the run of play, fuelled by little more than hope and pride. Every supporter’s dream.
Don’t care who wins, but I do hope whoever loses does so in the most embarrassing, excruciating fashion. Would be nice if one of them gets really shafted by a dodgy officiating decision.

Odd bunch of games really.prophet:marginal wrote: ↑Fri May 13, 2022 10:31 pmSpurs - Burnley (important for both)
Leeds - Brighton
Wolves - Norwich
Everton - Brentford.
Spurs should beat Burnley, but lost to them at Turf Moor and Burnley have picked up points at WHU, Arsenal and Chelsea.
Leeds are imploding while Brighton are in pretty sparking form, but that's mostly against good teams which Leeds aren't.
Wolves should beat Norwich, but didn't earlier in the season.
Everton should beat Brentford, but Brentford are capable of beating them.
It's not a set of fixtures you bet your house on.
