Re: Better Call Saul ending thread - Spoilers!
My assumption Proph was that he was left completely broken and bereft by the (unheard) conversation he had when he tried to call Kim - which was I guess in itself fairly obvious by his reaction - and this sent him over the edge, straight back into his Saul persona which is what E10 was leading towards. The straw that broke the camel's back.prophet:marginal wrote: ↑Wed Aug 03, 2022 11:16 am I am unable to understand why Gene goes as far as to break the window of the sleeping victim who told him he had cancer.
Despite Gene's best intentions, now nothing is off limits. Not even robbing a dying man - how better to illustrate that? It's the beginning of the end (I've seen it suggested the flashback to him visiting Walt's classroom for the first time was too, in a sense). The meticulous preparation is no longer necessary or even a consideration; he's spiralling towards a tragic conclusion.

Re: Better Call Saul ending thread - Spoilers!
It's hard to call out the writers of a show so brilliant, but I'm pretty much struggling with everything since the season break.
Nothing is really working for me, I've lost belief in all the plots as credible.
The Jesse and Walt stuff was pointless really....

Re: Better Call Saul ending thread - Spoilers!
He’s either going to top himself (I’m not sure if he has the character for that) or get himself caught.
Either way, there’s no ride off into the sunset for Saul.
I feel the glass break and number on the dying guy is to push the viewer into accepting he got what he deserved come the finale.

Been listening to this today. it's brilliant.
Started at 101 but couldn't remember a thing, so think I will return to that when I re-watch from the very beginning, once the current season has concluded.
For now just focusing on S6 - which is fascinating.

Re: Better Call Saul ending thread - Spoilers!
I personally think all the air has gone out of this show. It's been totally flat and quite boring since Gus killed Lalo and it hadn't really been doing all that much for me before then either.
I think S6 has been the weakest of the series by a distance generally. There were 2-3 properly bland filler episodes early on that could easily have been condensed into a single episode. It's got by on shocking moments, the Nacho suicide, Howard's murder, but it really hasn't been anywhere near as compelling as it was.
The Jesse and Walt appearance was rubbish as well. Clunky, unnecessary, totally out of place. It felt shoehorned in to give us a reason to stay engaged, but it just wasn't engaging. It looked like the sort of cameo you'd get on an SNL sketch.

Re: Better Call Saul ending thread - Spoilers!
For the first time, I watched one episode (last week's) twice, owing to the fact that La Proph was out of town and I couldn't resist it, but then watched again when she caught up.
Sadly, the scene in the bullet-damaged vehicle didn't improve.
Should have kept the masks on.

Haven't seen today's episode...but yeah, the last few episodes have been pretty poor.

It will prove to be his downfall, but I'm glad Gene/Saul couldn't kill Marion. Somewhere deep within, a remnant of Jimmy remains.

The last 5-10mins were the best part of the latest episode.
Not great though is it.
Gone rapidly down hill since Lalo's death.

Disagree with comments re quality of E11-13.

Re: Better Call Saul ending thread - Spoilers!
I like how everything is being neatly wrapped up. I don’t like shows ending on cliffhangers or leaving room for interpretation. I want to know the endgame for all the characters you’ve sat and watched for 6 seasons (excluding Breaking Bad).
I think he’ll die, can’t see him being arrested.

Re: Better Call Saul ending thread - Spoilers!
These last 2 episodes have felt like returning to something you know deep down you probably shouldn’t have, I don’t doubt it’s completely intentional.

Re: Better Call Saul ending thread - Spoilers!
Last episode was much better. Rhea Seehorn was superb as usual.
I think it was the Breaking Bad cameos last week which left me feeling meh...there didn't seem to be much point to them to be honest.

Re: Better Call Saul ending thread - Spoilers!
Kim's ultimate altruism in confessing to Howard's missus......Saul's human weakness in not offing Marion.....something very dark is coming.
Also, for a show with such immaculate attention to detail, it seems odd that they didn't even try to hide that Pinkman is 20 years older than the plot dictates. I suspect something meta that I'll never properly understand.

Don't forget he was seconds away from cracking that poor geezer's skull, before he passed out again, I don't think he has much left in him to be honest.Monkeybubbles wrote: ↑Fri Aug 12, 2022 8:38 am Kim's ultimate altruism in confessing to Howard's missus......Saul's human weakness in not offing Marion.....something very dark is coming.
Many years of hurt, will finally see him snap, it's been coming..
