Better Call Saul ending thread - Spoilers!
I know we are very late in the day on this, and it is discussed on the Netflix thread, but it's coming to such a epic head, there are so many things to look at here.
I've just finished Series 6 episode 5, so I'm one or two still behind. I'm trying not to binge watch to stretch it out....
Episode 4 and the Nacho issue was both brilliant and sad, and resolved his story.
I was confused by Frings actions in episode 5 until I read this. https://www.denofgeek.com/tv/better-cal ... s-germany/
Such incredible detail and thought in the writing. Since Lalo is not in BB it's reasonably clear where this is heading.
Still the biggest mystery is Kim. How the hell they are going to sort her out I have no idea.
The whole concept for both BCS and BB is just next level writing....

Re: Better Call Saul ending thread - Spoilers!
For me, the sheer intricacy of the plotlines (BCS <-> BB) is almost too complicated to follow.Bend it like Repka wrote: ↑Wed May 18, 2022 10:35 am

We have watched the last two episodes with that feeling that we can't ask each other what a particular thing means, because we'd be talking over another tiny fragment of the story.
It is so different from the trajectories you get from standard 'box-set' series, especially those that leave things open for one series after another, whilst trying to have repeated 'cliff edge' moments.
I think the people who write, direct and produce these two series are on the same level as Stanley Kubrick, but using a different medium to show off their skills.

Re: Better Call Saul ending thread - Spoilers!
I did love the line from Huell to Jimmy - "Why do you do all this?" Pretty much covers the whole show!

That's a really good shout. - If Saul was to meet up with Ms Wexler all these years later to ride off into the sunset, would it be a fitting ending for him?
Also impressed with Giancarlo's directing skills. - After years of playing Gus Fring, it's clear how immersed he is with the show.

I think they've learnt a lot from Breaking Bad , the writing is more refined , plots and sub-plots galore , there's also more of a mixture of comedy and drama , complicated characters we've loved and invested our time in . It's true genius .

Great, great show. - was some great writing to shed some light on Howard's personal life and struggles, for the first time in 6 seasons, I felt for the guy.
If Kim makes it out of "the visit" alive, she'll carry Howard's guilt and be straight on her way to the vacuum repair centre.

Re: Better Call Saul ending thread - Spoilers!
I think Kim leaves him rather than cops it, just purely on the way Saul holds himself in BB proper. He does not seem like a man in heavy grief in that show, which they have to consider when writing BCS.

Re: Better Call Saul ending thread - Spoilers!
Just caught up with this. Understandably enough, this last half-season has had a propulsion and a drive to it which I've sometimes found lacking in BCS, most particularly when the story centres around Mesa Verde or Sandpiper or HHM or one of the other law firms. It's easily as good-looking as Breaking Bad and we were treated to a crackerjack mid-season finale there but, for me personally, BCS is not even close to BB in terms of the story it's telling. I'm enjoying watching Lalo and his shenanigans though, the mischievous little tinker.

Re: Better Call Saul ending thread - Spoilers!
Last night I finished episode 7 of season 6, and wow that was good!
I didn’t watch Breaking Bad until lockdown and then started Better Call Saul immediately after. Personally I think BCS is better than the amazing BB, mainly as you can see where they’ve learnt along the way - also Gus and Mike were too brilliant characters which lend very well to making BCS.
Roll on July/August for the final episodes!

Re: Better Call Saul ending thread - Spoilers!
Yep, I did post in my excitement from the final episode and BB is certainly the better, given it's my favourite all time show. I probably have 8-10 series that are in my 'elite' category which BB tops. BCS is in that elite bracket for me, amongst the likes of The Sopranos, The Wire, The Shield etc.last.caress wrote: ↑Fri May 27, 2022 12:45 pm Just caught up with this. Re: Better Call Saul ending thread - Spoilers!
I think what makes BCS so good, is that it is constantly adding more depth to BB
Separately, they are both absolutely superb in their own right.
Together, they are nothing short of perfection.
