Jailed for 24 weeks. And has a banning from all football matches for ten years. And banned for life by Forest. And he and his girlfriend won’t be able to pay their £1,000 a month mortgage, he says. Such stupidity.

Jailed for 24 weeks already??? That was quick, it only happened 2 nights ago! Doesn't this have to go to court first etc? Didn't realise our prosecution system was that quick.

He doesn’t look the sort of person that would do an accidental running head butt. But speaking personally I’ve been known to go a bit wonky when running and pissed - usually I end up running into buildings and knocking myself out tho.

If they arrested within a short time, he admitted it and they charged on the back of that; he can sit in the cells overnight and admit it the next day.

Very few cases proceed that way, but the system is in place for them to do so.

Looks like got 1/3 off a 9 month sentence.

Doubt he'd successfully appeal that.

I bet he was pretty chuffed with himself in that moment, and for a while after.

Absolutely ****ed himself.

Is that definitely intentional? I can't think of any scenario where I would run headfirst into someone.

What about the scenario where you are a pissed up coward trying to hurt someone for kicks?

The criminal justice wheels can turn quickly when it suits. All crimes start at Mags' court, even murder. He was found guilty of ABH at Nottingham Mags'.

Isn't that same reaction Sharpe did when he got "attacked" by Matty taylor on valentine's Day 2012 meaning southampton got an undeserved draw which cost us automatic promotion ..

Least their was clear contact this time I guess

I think what scratchy was trying to say was did he definitely plan to run head first into the player or was he unbalanced due to being pissed and as a result went head first into the player. Or was it definitely a running head butt on purpose.

What was he doing on the pitch though ?

That's a criminal offence in itself.

Mansfield boss Nigel Clough says pitch invader incidents are "getting concerning" after one of his players was apparently shoved by a fan that ran on to the field at Northampton.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/61507970

Completely agree with Nigel Clough. It seems like supporters now think it's their right to get on the pitch, camera phone in hand and storm about, heckling players, generally acting like goons. Rarely do I feel much sympathy for footballers but if the shoe was on the other foot and you had a footballer in someones face, cajoling them and giving it the big I am then all hell would break loose.

The report I saw suggested another camera angle showed the defendant running around and dodging other fans seemingly with the intention of reaching Sharp. He wasn’t just running in a straight line and happened to collide with the victim.
