Also, don't forget Frankfurt won the EL last season despite finishing 11th (joint with 13th) in the bundesliga. Poor league form doesn't always equal poor European form
It could just mean we had an easy group, plus the likelihood is the teams coming in now will end up stronger, hope I,'m wrong though.

No chance the teams that have dropped down to the Conference League are awful bar Lazio.

Last season Vienna dropped down to this competition and we eased past them both games so similar sort of standard.

Semi finals is the minimum expectation IMO.

Emery leaving Villarreal was very good for us, in terms of this competition. Think it will also help if Lazio are still fighting for a Champions League slot. Bodo/Glimt are also a possible hurdle, especially with their fake pitch.

Nice might be a bigger hurdle...

Nice's form has picked up since a change in manager.

Lazio, Fiorentina, Villarreal, Nice.

They're the four dangers.

Hopefully they draw each other and we can avoid them all until a final.

All very decent sides but we’re better than all of them aside from Villarreal based on their European record.

It’s not outrageous to say we should be looking at getting to the final imo. Last years experience will also be valuable when we get back to it in the last 16.

Focus on getting as many points as possible in the League this coming month. Then when March arrives, eyes on the prize for this competition!

Three 2 legged knockout games away from a European final. With the injuries and draws kind to us and the team playing to their potential, it is absolutely possible.

Take every game as it comes. I think one of the things that we did really, really well with the Europa last season was to not get ahead of ourselves, we treated each game as if it was the last and, as a result, gave a heck of a good account for ourselves.

We're currently as likely to play Trabzonspor as we are Basel, the lowest and highest coefficient teams in the play offs.

Let's not get carried away and tackle this one team/game at a time.

I would be over the moon if we drew Basel. Currently 7th (out of 10) in the Swiss Premier League

Fair point, but their Euro pedigree is incredible, in terms of repeat qualification for tournaments
(I accept that they are however doing it from a small league)

Tbh i think i'd rather play these teams. Much like playing Lyon and Sevilla last year, i think that type of game brings the best out of us as a team and as a fanbase.

Villarreal are ageing. Lazio is a similar deal. I've seen both play a bit this season and they can absolutely be had.

Sevilla was also at the top of the league last season when we played them. They couldn't cope with us at home. This season they are floundering as their squad finally buckled.

We should be winning this competition. We must win it.

I'm the opposite, give me the easiest run possible until the final, I want to play Qarabag, Larnaca and Sivasspor, then play a final against Bratislava

I wouldn’t grumble if we won every game against the lowest possible ranked team. :D

Deadline this afternoon for ST holders to get their seat.

Any idea why they still haven't confirmed the date for this match yet? They already know Arsenal are playing Europa in the same night. If the rules say it's a problem, why haven't they already moved it - or confirmed that it won't be? What are they waiting for?? It's very annoying.
