Thursday 18 August
Strike action by Rail, Maritime and Transport (RMT) union, the Transport Salaried Staffs Association (TSSA) and Unite
Friday 19 August
Workers on London Underground are set to stage a 24-hour strike. Overground workers employed by Arriva Rail London will stage a separate walk-out on the same day. About 10,000 Tube workers and 400 Overground workers are to walk out.
The strike will last all day, causing significant disruption for commuters.
Thursday night will be a nightmare getting home if you use National Rail from Stratford. Tube should be ok depending on when they start winding down for the Friday strike.

OK I definitely called this one wrong - they certainly should have waited until the draw and then pitched it lower as "affordable family football".docarnie wrote: ↑Fri Jul 15, 2022 10:51 am Dons tin hat - I don't think these prices are unreasonable. In comparison with a group game, which might even be a dead rubber, this Play-off round is hugely important for our season. Moyes' selection will show the seriousness, except for the possibility of us running up a big score in an away 1st leg. We all know about the banana skins of the past and the qualifying rounds up to then will take out the absolute minnows.
But the match against the Danes (as should be confirmed after their trip to the Faroes tonight) is still huge for our season. If we don't go to Denmark with a clear lead in the tie, the second leg will be an anxious evening.
Meanwhile Shamrock Rovers also play tonight - win, and they will be through to a Europa League play off, and guaranteed a Conference group place at worst.

Re: Europa Conference League 22-23
Anyone able to shed any light as to why both legs of the Torshavn - Viborg tie have been played on a Tuesday as opposed to the 'normal' Thursday?
And does this have any effect on our games ? -- presumably the Home leg is fixed now for Thurs 18th, but could the Away leg be moved to Weds 24th (or even Tues 23rd?)

Thursday (thorsday) is the viking sabbath so they try to avoid that dayCaptain Slaphead wrote: ↑Tue Aug 09, 2022 12:59 pm Anyone able to shed any light as to why both legs of the Torshavn - Viborg tie have been played on a Tuesday as opposed to the 'normal' Thursday?

Aren't the tubes normally a nightmare the evening before?
I need to get to Upminster so tube could work but I've heard previously the service will be significantly reduced...

On the night before and morning after a rail strike, my experience of the underground, specifically Central and District lines, is that the services run, but there is often a 12-15 minute gap between the trains

Tickets for this qualifier are going to end up at giveaway prices aren't they.
There are an hilarious amount of tickets left for it.

Second leg of Viborg's game is 0-0 at HT. They haven't looked under any real threat. Just a couple of chances.
1-0 now, so 4-0 aggregate.

Re: Europa Conference League 22-23
Surely not for real, Brondby play on Thursday last week. I think it was more to do with a potential clash with another team from FI and had to be scheduled before knowing results and couldn't played tomorrow due to Super Cup.

Re: Europa Conference League 22-23
£40 I had to pay (paid because I want the point) but I bloody love that they haven’t sold any tickets. Scum for the prices they tried to charge.
