But I suspect it would have made less of an impression on a dodgy Korean rip than on a huge IMAX screen…
Flight sequences were incredible. Another high watermark in all sorts of technologies and implementation. Genuinely exceeded expectations in places. No question, world class cinematography and stunts.
Story and acting was excruciating. There’s just no need for that level of dumbing down and vanilla scriptwriting, all done to maximise audience at all costs. The opening sequence alone made my teeth itch.
It was typical modern anodyne Hollywood rubbish. More concerned about not offending anyone (especially the Chinese) than anything else. It’s all so unambitious.
